  1. There may well be more clarity on Sunday. When the PM let's us know how the country will start to come out of this. Like many I'm concerned about work, holidays and day to day life.It seems clear life will return to normal very slowly. The lights were turned off quickly. Turning them back on will take alot longer.
  2. A piece just on BBC breakfast. A 97 year old lady in Russia, has been inspired by Captain Tom.She is unable to copy Tom,having broken her hip.Instead she is telling stories of her time in the war, posting on line. She war a war hero. She is raising money for Doctors and nurses in Russia. Another great lady helping others at this very hard time.Good on her. Colonel Captain Tom is on BBC1 tonight at 7.30PM. We all need good news stories at the moment.
  3. Part two yesterday, jet washing the patio. Looks much better ,small repair work. Will be needed to fill in some gaps.I was thinking of using self leveling concrete. Also our apple tree.May have lots of Apples by the looks of it.
  4. We have only seen empty streets, towns, seaside etc.In films usually disaster or horror films. The world has turned into a film set.The irony is the film business like most things has all be it stopped. Dont think we will never see anything like this again. They seems to be some benefits, wildlife they are free we're not.The pollution levels are dropping. Most people seem to be more caring. It would be nice to learn lessons from this time,to use in future.
  5. Thanks Jean, will be great to get back on the water. At sometime let's hope in the near future.
  6. I dont know the answer, perhaps a phone call to your bank, and or contact Which.
  7. In my mind,I'm thinking perhaps we can get to the boat by July/August.That maybe also unlikely. We do enjoy eating in pubs and restaurants ,but at the moment just to move around safely would be a bonus.
  8. Seems the rules regarding cancelled holidays are clear. To offer alternative dates in the future if acceptable to those affected by cancellations,or refunds. We are due to go to Cornwall in a months time.As yet they've not cancelled.I'm sure it will be cancelled. As for us,we dont mind if we can go next year,at no extra cost.Seems Cornwall is unlucky for me.We booked five years ago,we had to cancel, because I broke a bone in my foot.
  9. Pleased good job today, done half the patio.Quite dirty, looks much better now.Do the rest tomorrow and Monday. Now its wine o,clock. My treat on Saturday nights.
  10. Can I have a pint as well please
  11. Today like many,I'm joining the Jet wash club.We got a new jet washer the other day .I will clean our patio, over the next few days.I cleared half of the patio on Thursday the rain helped a bit,so will start today. Also want to start painting, one of our bedrooms soon.Half way through now of my 12 weeks.I still miss not being able to go out. However thankfully that we have a garden, and that the weather is okay. When able I will be happy to just, at first go for a walk, other then the garden.

  13. A very sad loss indeed over the years we saw the boat many times, and sometimes shared a moorings. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
  14. Just had another Donation for £25.Very pleased. As I said will keep the link open if anyone wants to add to the total. Come what may,if I can next year will do something again. As I've got COPD may be the British lung foundation.
  15. My father died in service with the RAF,when I was 18 months old.Sadly I never knew him.During the war zI wanted to join the RAF.At the time he was a miner, like he's father. Therefore he worked down the mines in County Durham. After the War he joined the RAF. My mother worked in the Woolwich Arsenal during the war.
  16. Silly me it's me,Marina ,Nicola and Boomer.Alan took the Photo.
  17. Slow but sure like many with time on our hands we are having a tidy up,and clearing out.Just found some photos. These are from horse drawn caravan holiday in the early nineties. When Nicola and Alan were young, they both did riding at a community riding club in Thamesmead. So Marina found this holiday. The Waveney valley horse drawn holidays.I think the owner was a chap called Eric.He brought some land and steam up horse drawn holidays. We had teo great holidays. It was Marina,Alan and Nicola's first time in Norfolk. I had two trips on the broads in the sixties. I horse Sade a Suffolk punch. Now fairly rare. She was easy to handle and new the trips we took. One thing he said. They dont like pigs and also think sheep are woolly pigs.Well run,she could make Red rum look slow.Dont thing Alan has done any riding for years.Nicola has her own horse Wheez. Some Photos. Marina,Alan and our dog Boomer. Sade. Wheez Nicola's horse.
  18. It is perhaps you will agree, its a small World.
  19. Happy 100th Birthday, now Colonel Captain Tom Moore. You are a shining light in all this Darkness.Have a great day.Best wishes from me, and I'm sure by many in this country and sm sure from many across the world. Ian
  20. What I think is worrying , perhaps more people then those that are suffering from a number of conditions other then Corona. Such as cancer, heart, perhaps being the most serious. It appears many are for a variety of reasons not contacting there GPs .Thankfully now Doctors, health care people are encouraging those that think theres something not right to get it checked. Apart from my COPD,I'm in reasonably good health. I have contacted my Surgery twice. Did a phone consultation. If I talk at any length, my voice goes crokey. At first it may have been blamed on one of my puffers, now it may be something else.So in time I will have it checked by ENT.Its important to seek help if somethings not right.
  21. I've just had a £10 donation for my walk I did on Sunday for the RNLI. The link is still open if anyone else would like to donate. Ian
  22. I spoke with Graham last week ,because I'm concerned about our batteries. We dont have shore power.I then spoke with David at cove. The gates are open,Graham will check on the boat on our behalf. Regarding in normal times I know David and others check on our boat during bad weather, lvery low or high tides which is reassuring.
  23. As mentioned regarding your back.Advice I've heard is at due date for holiday balance, pay if its cancelled if you use credit or debit cards you can get your money back.If it was me I would contact Hoseasons and tell them you want the money back.
  24. Do you have it insured or is it your first boat Insurance? Ian.
