In the case of Hemsby Lifeboat, they didn't just fit blue lights because they thought its a good idea. What is needed is the law to be amended to cover Independent stations.Remember Hemsby cover all of the broads. The RNLI attend close to Yarmouth. It's a very large area. Until this one person who complained about blue lights ,everything worked well.Without any problems. I ask members to write to there MP.As a boater hirer or owner. Its in your best interests to insure there's cover on the broads.
Which as I've said many times, leaving Hemsby to cover all of the broads. If I use myself as an example. Three nines ,the coastguard paged Hemsby, and a Ambulance .Hemsby got to me first.Think the Ambulance arrived about 15 minutes later.
If you think there throwing toys out of the pram.Your welcome to tell them up in Hemsby. They and for that matter me,can't see and difference between the RNLI and Independent Lifeboats. Of which there are 150 across the country. Where often for one reason or another the RNLI have left an location. Such as Caister,Hemsby and Sea Palling.
And just one person. There is no difference between Hemsby Lifeboat and the RNLI,using blue light.Infact in my opinion this ruling suggests that Independent stations are not as skilled as The RNLI.
I didn't want to say anything. Dan said this morning that the press were going to publish now.He had asked them not to until Tuesday. They decided to go ahead. So as seen look East went ahead this evening. Its unbelievable, one person complained to the Police, resulting in the Police not allowing Hemsby to us Blue lights. Why!Someone did three nines for me.The coastguard paged Hemsby. They came to me on blue lights. The Police need to allow them to us Blue lights. They are part of the emergency service.
I can't go into much detail. Will become clear later.I had a text from Dan the Cox last night. BBC look East wanted to film about call outs on the broads. Dan thought because they called out to us when I hit my head at Ludham Bridge,it would be good if the BBC interviewed us. Must say it was very windy up by the beach.
The interview with Marina and myself.Should go out next Tuesday, however it may go out sooner.
Steve whose doing work on Mermaid, suggested a soak on the rear Fender which we've done.We then thought maybe a good idea to put soaks on the smaller ones. Now I'm more confused 😕.
As I said we are going down to Kent it's our Daughter's birthday on Monday 8 May. Will be catching up with family. So unsure what TV we're see.I certainly wish Both the King and Queen my very best wishes.
We have brought new fenders for Mermaid. With a large one on the stern.Which has a sock.We now want soaks for the smaller one.Not as easy as I hoped. We are looking for ten.Any advice would be helpful.
In old money it's 17 inches. Photo of one of our fenders.
Very sad, what is clear from yhe overhead photos. Every thing is close together. So the fire perhaps easy jumping from one building to another. Appears thankfully no one was hurt, I hope they can rebuild there business.
