  1. Across from the YS Beccles. Fuel pumpout and water.Steve is the chap there.
  2. Ken Goodwin.He passed away February 2012.
  3. I get it,not everyone watch or watched Strictly. Not everyone likes dancing.I've watched Strictly since the beginning. As I said Len a great dancer, very knowable, funny and kind.He helped to make dance popular. And often topping the viewing figures. For me it brings some happiness to dark, gray days of Autumn and winter. For me quite local, from Woolwich and he had a dance school in Dartford. RIP Len.
  4. The boathouse Rollesby have a loyalty card, which is free.We picked up one earlier this year.
  5. True however from Scatby to Neuport These villages brings in over 150 Million pounds each year.If which sadly may happen and the sea breaks through that money will be lost.Of course this is a massive problem all along the east coast.
  6. I've crossed the old bridge many times on foot Never had a problem.
  7. Sad to hear Len passed away at the weekend. Aged 78 ,he had Bone Cancer. Not only was he a great dancer. He was funny and entertaining man. And in my opinion helped a great deal making Strictly a success. My thoughts go to Lens family and friends. RIP Len.
  8. Think it's odd that the Alarm is only sent to smart phones.Mine went off at 3.00pm.Marinas about 15 minutes later. If as suggested it's to warn for example flooding. The warning may be to late.Think more work needs to be done to improve the system.
  9. Hemsby brings in at least 80 million pounds per year.Scatby and Winterton that brings in up to 150 million pounds. It needs support.
  10. There has been meeting with Great Yarmouth Council. That resulted in the rock left on parts of the beach. Its not enough and the Government need to act soon to stop further loss at Hemsby. Last week another 2mitres were lost.
  11. Had a nice lunch,Lacon Arms Hemsby. Very nice lunch. Food very good. Then saw the damage done by wind and rain.Instore Lifeboat off station at present.
  12. Very true Jean.Must see these loads.Often Caravans at least once a week.saw one the other day,on quite a narrow road. Also we come across heavy farm traffic.Part of the fun living in the countryside and in the Middle of the broads.
  13. Now we live here,we miss the old bridge. Will be happy if and when we can use it.
  14. A friend of mine had a not very smart phone. He went to the phone shop and asked if he could have an up grade. The chap said the only upgrade you can get is two tin cans and a piece of string.
  15. Very true.I worked for Nat West for nearly 18 years.I was also involved in the community at Thamesmead. The bank was closing a branch in Thamesmead. Along with many in the community we tried to save the branch. So sadly bank branch's closing have been happening for 40 odd years.
  16. Great Yarmouth has a number of banks.I think thankfully five or six.I do most of payments on line, but I do go to the bank a few times a month. The whole assumption that we have access to tech is Wrong.I think it will be at least 20 to 30 years, until everyone has access to tech.So people and many businesses need access to banks for some time.
  17. As of last night, wind and high tide have move some of the defences.More work needs to be done by Government .Otherwise more will be lost
  18. He cared far more about the club. Also supported local community group. The American is useless. We will return.Only London team to win Champions league twice.Unlike some London teams, who've not even one the egg and spoon race.
  19. I've said the poor owner. He knows as much about football as I know about rocket science. Group of over priced and over paid players. That don't play as a team.Frank needs to give players the hair dryer treatment.
  20. We had a nice morning in Hemsby. Had a coffee in the Lacon Arms.Very nice pub close to the Lifeboat station. Booked Sunday lunch next week.Walked on the beach. A few photos.
  21. My first experience was as a child in the sixties. We had two holidays From Martham. So like many of us I'm hooked.I think if you as others have said, think of it as camping on water not as a five star hotel on the Med.
  22. I posted on there Facebook my views regarding Ranworth and Reedham fees for moorings. Funny they never replied.
  23. Okay we're sold on the Broads. We all share a love of boats and water. It's not for everyone. I do agree re food.I think the standard of food and choice has dropped in recent years.I hope standards improve soon.Moorings are a problem. My guess these reviews were written by those that were used to perhaps med holidays. And yes in many respects it's camping on the water. The Broads won't be for everyone and that's true to all holidays not just boating on the broads.Theres over 100 miles available pre plan there's lots to do and see.
