  3. Good luck Satchmo and thanks for the update. It doesn’t sound like a very healthy environment to be living in with all the damp take care with your health mate and all the best with your job search. You seem quite a positive guy though especially with what you have just been through so I’m sure you will be sorted sooner than later. John
  4. Congratulations Mr & Mrs G nice to hear some good news 😀 John
  5. Would be interested in knowing what battery bank they have on that to run that lot. I have 3 x 160 AH batteries through a master volt 2500 inverter and it doesn't like using more than 1 item at a time so if you try to run all that in one go I can’t see it working very well? John
  6. I believe this is more directed to a certain speedboat that has been involved with quite a few evening cruises on the plane all over the Bure recently. John

    Taxi Hoveton

A bit of useful information for a top taxi bloke. Having had a bit of bad luck on Sunday night, it could only happen to me as I managed to lock myself out of the boat putting the external side sliding doors covers on the latch dropped slightly with no shoes, no phone or car keys etc. Sitting on the back of the boat with my head in my hands I came up with the idea to phone a taxi to take me back home to Salhouse for a spare set of keys. I saw movement and a light on on Evening Shadow across the marina (the gravel paths are very unforgiving with no shoes) to see if they would be so kind to borrow a phone which they were very helpful with. Easy you may think! Oh no all the local taxis finish at 8 pm it was 10.30pm. I got last resort phone number of a new taxi guy A 2 Z taxis who works Hoveton and Cromer and works nights, what a life saver he came within 10 minutes and charged £25 there and back. Top bloke and I can’t thank him enough. His number is 01603 781112 or 07796781550. Just glad I was back at Horning not mud weighted on Barton as I was the night before ! John
  17. Just gone past this idiot just past Horning. He did slow down as he passed me though. John
  18. Ha ha good to meet you even it was brief enjoy your quiet spot party party boat coming in your direction from Horning by the way John
  19. You can run but you can’t hide Grendal 🤔 just gone past you but no sign of life didn’t want to disturb your snooze may catch you in way back frin Wroxham John
  20. I have no doubt things will quieten down but at the moment the holiday hotspots around the UK are booming, people are spending money. I was talking to a guy NYA yesterday about a possible boat change and he said they have only 40 or so boats left in stock compared with normally over 100 boats. I have lived through many recessions and this is unlike the beginning of any other I have witnessed. The housing market is booming as is most of the building trade. The car market is doing well I have recently changed my car and the second hand prices have gone up instead of down due to low stock. Regarding the Boatyard’s I think the season will extend well past October this year to hopefully offset a little the missing 3 months. So I’m afraid some can paint a black picture if it suits but I’m not. John
  21. Get them told Grendel no point in beating around the bush with these ignoramuses😂 John
  22. It would be a fine boat but for the yellow colour! Don’t think the previous owners had her more than a few months. John
  23. Is there any discount for members here ? John
  24. I’m not going to argue that I’m afraid John
  25. We have booked a boat on the Thames for the 1st week in October. They have sent me a new invoice with a reduced price showing the vat at the lower rate so it includes boats. John
