  1. All BMW’s should have run flat tyres fitted which allows you to still drive up to 50mph if you have a puncture so no need for a spare. John
  2. Good choice of car Robin I’ve had 2 X5s A bit big again though for parking up especially in the multi story car parks.! Hope you’ve gone for run flats Robin as these now (they were very noisy when they first came out) are great if not bloody expensive now. BMW usually change the tyres on used cars if the trend is below 5mm as standard when buying from them. I have had a puncture a few times on these and been able to carry on my journey around Norfolk all be it at a recommended 50mph. I definatly wouldn’t put standard tyres on if you are driving around on dark nights even with a full size spare you wouldnt want to be changing them on our pitch black roads at night. whats with the ad blue I have the same 3lt engine in a 3 series bmw touring but don’t need to use it. I thought bmw had an extra bit in the exhaust so you didn’t need it (unless that’s later models?) John

  5. Oh no!!! Can’t stand the program with up there own arsenal judges 😀 Mrs B locked herself in the lounge to watch 😂 now Im a celebrity that’s another story 😀 John
  6. Yes watched it and found the presenters boring. Could have made an interesting good programme with the idea being good but poorly executed. John
  7. Hi Robin it’s not you it’s the size of the car, I used a couple of big motors generally 4x 4s but realised after constant hospital visits with parents get something smaller. The 7 series is huge, the 5 series is too big for town/ multi story parking. Now have had quite a few 3 series tourings perfect easy to handle fuel efficient etc. (Other makes are available) 😀 John
  8. Not be long now before they reduce the speed on the road certainly near to the islands John
  9. Well done Robin you will be spoilt for choose now on places to go enjoy. I will look out for you in the big 7 series ! John

  11. This is something I come across every week in my job regarding use of materials in conservation areas in east anglia. The use of upvc / aluminium gets frowned upon quite a lot but generally if you spend a bit of time and show the planners the benefits profiles etc they in the main are fairly flexible. Its when you do things with out consulting them they dig their heels in and quite rightly so. John
  12. Hi Steve and Debs it was good to see you today at Ranworth, hope you enjoy the rest of you week Ps watch that dog in the pub?
  13. Couldn’t have put it better myself MM. Living in the area and especially still working we have defiantly used our boat less this couple of years. In fact we haven’t managed a full week this year, but have been on a good few weekends and evenings out to the pub. John

    Stern Only

Just been for an afternoon walk around Ranworth on my day off and noticed 2 boats side on right on the front. Now I know it’s winter season but there are still quite a few boats around the hotspot areas in November. So when is a stern only mooring not that any more ? John ‘
  15. Mr Jayfire looking out for his next pub this afternoon as passed near Brundall John
  16. Should be easy enough to catch as most of them are still embedded onto the islands the morning after John
  17. She looks very smart Mark, better than others on the market. is she an ex calypso king boat as they were all white? good luck with the sale shouldn’t be about long even if it’s the wrong end of the season. John
  18. Sliding door next to the helm is my preferred option over the sunroof. John
  19. If you have to have 2 pump outs in a week with just the 2 of you on board there is something not right. I would suspect they have put too small a waste tank on them. It will be interesting to see if the fit out is done at HWs (on a Brooms supplied hull) which then could have a different set up? We have the same design Hull with an electric toilet and it lasts us 7 nights before it’s full. Also we tend to have just the 2 of us on board which is perfect for the design of boat? John
  20. Looking good girl see you’ve been watching your dad on the posing front? John
  21. I think these widebeam barges are really nice craft a real home on the water but I don’t think the broads mooring situation (unless mainly permanently moored on a private mooring) is up to having a lot of these large vessels out and about permanently. The 45ft rule can’t be fully enforced as there are a few new additions much longer around Brundall area as I have noticed. Sorry to be a bit negative but good luck with your idea and let us know how you progress. John
  22. Or your Grandads in these days of political correctness ?
  23. Whilst out on the canal the other day our neighbour was having a bit of trouble with his bow thruster making a noise, on inspection he found an eel had Found its way into it. John
  24. A few weeks ago at Beccles there was a Jackdaw on the over head wires in the Mooring basin talking to itself first thing in the morning, I thought I was hearing things at first or had a few too many the night before. John
