Last week at Bramerton a Broom Captain came in just in front of us about 9pm but didn't turn their engine off. As we were going to bed about 11pm I went and knocked on the window to ask them to turn it off but they had gone to bed, so I carried on knocking and after a while they got up not happy i told them I don't want their boat fumes in our bedroom all night so turn it off which they did till 4am, I tried to ask them to turn it off but was ignored they were in bed! Why Why do you need your engine on all night (it was a warm night) so an early morning cruise was in order. Good hand over I don't think! John

We had a brolly type sun shade on our first boat (quicksilver 540) on one memorable trip through Barton broad my wife shouts out look over there there's a canopy just like ours floating upside down in the middle of the broad that's a coincidence! Needless to say when I turned round I noticed our was missing, one of the many little things I never let her forget but wouldn't change her for the world. John

We called in the Lion yesterday late afternoon for a nosy, and test the beer was as good as the White horse ! I can confirm the 2 we tried were as good, Redwells Steam larger our usual tiple was top drawer and then tried the Redwells white IPA which was full of flavour but not for the faint hearted as didn't realise until the misus was walking at funny angles down the road with the dog it's over 6% strength. we will be back John

Nice dream though all the same} Hi Griff family , friends you will see more of them as they want to come and see you, shooting , biking no better place to be ,plenty of workshops to rent etc. Having been here on and off for a few years it's not a bad place to be, but don't tell every one... Couldn't be doing with all the messing and thinking are we going to get electric hook up life is stress full enough. We have a decent inverter/charger 2500 mastervolt, 1 kw kettle, 3 batteries never had the use shorepower in 6 years apart from home mooring to keep batteries topped up. John

Hi Mark the first new Broom 35s for the hire fleet that we're built 3 or 4 years ago (may be the same now?) had fitted 200hp engines with a view to sell off private after a few years We have the same hull on our Westwood (if fact went past you at the weekend on Endeavour did sound the horn as you were strategically fitting a new flag off the side deck)! This has a 150hp engine which once you push it a bit will create a large wash, they are semi- displacement hulls. As stated at normal cruising speeds they don't seem to create any more wash than our last boats though. Regards John

Hi & welcome Mark & Elisa I do believe we are at the same moorings at Brundall. John

Looking very smart Mark, enjoy your Easter cruising. we will be out on the rivers Sunday will look out for you. John

Any body else noticed very low water tonight. We struggled to get into our mooring at Brundall. I put it down to bang on low water time, no rain for a few weeks, full moon. hope its not a regular occurrence on the new moorings. Regards John

Moorings At Horning
Jbx5 replied to C.Ricko's topic in Local Broads Business Promotions and Information
We have just left Horning marina only because we wanted to have 12 months down south as our boat is more suited there and we like a weekend in Beccles, Oulton etc. The marina is one of the best on the system in terms of position, facilities ,ease of mooring. The charges are about right taking consideration of the above. we wouldn't hesitate to return in a few years. John B -
A chance of someone decent to invest a bit of much needed funding into it its in a good position and could be a good business and very handy as just round the corner from our house. John

Luckily the plastic vent cover clipped back in. bit of a job to get the bird out though as the head was trapped further back. John
