  3. To add to all the other temporary lights / roadworks in the area it is advised to stay away from the Wroxham area at the moment as the traffic is pretty bad I think there is a gas leak or some work on the main going on near to the vets backing up to well past Roy's garage one way and well over the bridge the other, it's been like that for over a week now. John
  4. Good luck guys I may call in and see you on Sunday if around. regards John

    Neatishead

At Neatishead if 3 boats are together in 1 party (1in the middle )at the head of the moorings that's fine. (A lot of people aren't as accommodating as you Griff) A couple of years ago one boat came down the middle and moored at the end and beggerd off presumably to the pub. An older gentleman came back from his walk ready to set off to meet his wife he was stuck there and couldn't move until the next day as it went dark. He was most upset as the people concerned didn't think they had done anything wrong . He said it had put him off the broads after 50 years and was to take is boat back. John
  9. Hi Griff it was good to have catch up again which was over due it must have been well dark by the time you got to Acle. regards John B
  10. Very bad news, he was a down to earth fair guy who will be greatly missed on here. John
  11. Hi Mark best not to use a grinder in the house as a major dust problem best option bolster or cold chisel as gentle as possible to chip away the tiles you need to remove. John

    Torches

Hi Paul I have a very handy Halfords advanced Cree 2aa £9.99 torch After reading great reviews at the price didn't think it would be as good as it is, light, fit in pocket easy, feels much more expensive and for picking up numbers ideal. John
  13. South Walsham Sunday pm no one else about! John
  14. Very quite yesterday at one point only us moored at South Walsham Even the Horning moorings were empty for a short while Weather very nice and looks even better for today forecast. The broads are really are spot on when you get a few days like this. John

    Wroxham

We nearly went for one of these 10 years ago but felt not quite right with the lease which was then with yellow properties. this latest crowd sound even worse, although they seem to change hands ok but I guess that's down to location, location if nothing else. John

  24. I know from past experience that the bridge height gauge is quite accurate, so anyone who uses this area often what is the low water reading on average ? We need 8ft 8in air draft on the new boat and the last couple of times we have done the safe option and gone all round the new cut way, but next Friday (5.30 slack water) the daylight will be against us to get to Somerleyton. Regards John
  25. Our first boat we called Fri 13th as that was the day we got married all those years back (30 years next year wow doesn't time fly when your enjoying yourselve) ha ha. It was a Quicksilver 540 with a rather nice, quick and smooth Honda 90hp out board on. We trailered the boat round the coast but mainly used on the Broads. No body wanted to buy her with that name but when we took the name off her she sold in a week! It was quite sad when we had to sell her. But on to bigger and better things as they say. now 3 boats later we are on to Endeavour a Westwood 340C and loving it ! John
