With the rules changing re Covid my son had to go in work this week even though he has a positive result and feeling rough. This is in the royal navy as well. He was one of the few people not to get it on an 8 month deployment last year. So now it’s considered as a common cold and nothing to worry about any more after 2 years of panic mode ! John

Traffic lights and single lane over Wroxham bridge. A big hole is being dug Wroxham side. Quite a hold up either side of bridge. John

Talking to a guy at Brooms today they have 1 boat out, one being used later in the week for a tv cook (Ainsley Hariott ) programme, then steadily more from next weekend. They were all looking top notch and ready to go. John

It must have been a quick job as all had cleared on my return this afternoon 😀 John

New traffic lights up at Wroxham bridge what a complete joke! John

Hi my opinion through experience I think you would get a bit fed up of carrying petrol cans around as there aren’t any petrol pumps any more around here. The Shetlands seem a good starter boat but they do seem to change hands quite regularly for some reason. There is a Shetland 29i on again which gives better stern on access but it’s a bit over priced in my opinion. There isn’t much decent around at the moment I’m afraid but this could change once April comes so don’t rush into it would be my thoughts. John

Yes messing about with the interior must have devalued her some what. (But the price looks good now as it’s been reduced) It’s must be a comfortable boat with those chairs if one or 2 people were using her but not a family or 4 people boat as she was originally. I believe she was White diamond 2 when new which we hired the 2nd week she was out from new a with all red upholstery and a nice big seating area. I would be first in line if she was still like that. Just passed through, they don’t look any further forward. This was one of our reasons for moving to Salhouse from over the other side of the bridge. You expect a back log in summer but not this this time of year, there is one set of road works after another on this road. John

Not been up north but levels quite low Yare area for a change yesterday afternoon. I would say best chance for you just before sunset tomorrow. John

We are certainly having a nice few days weather wise which if you fully winterise you don’t get to enjoy. John

It’s been like that for the last few weeks (Boxing Day all the roads were blocked with people trying to get in ) much busier than last year as you say. John

At Neatishead and Irstead your can guarantee hostility with the fishing fraternity if you try to moor in the fishing season and I have been wary of leaving the boat for any amount of time. It is time now to ban fishing at these moorings as these people have taken over.

Hope they find out who has done this and send them the bill, frankly disgraceful Behaviour! I’m afraid if I caught someone doing that to my boat they would be straight in the water. John

What nice weather we are having here in Broadland. Not much happening at work so gave the boat a mid winter clean off and couldn’t resist a run out to Rockland Broad and back. Then this morning a walk to Salhouse Broad with the dogs were the geese have taken over, very quiet nobody around bliss! Even the Nogs were in hiding 😂

Have you got a photo of it? As there was one completely refitted about 10 years ago next to a cottage we owned at the time, it was a yellow colour from memory. John

Oh dear Warren I am doing the opposite journey tomorrow Salhouse to Manchester via Sheffield so hope they have sorted at least the main roads out ! No snow here in Norfolk but windy and raining. John
