Yes restoring it to Kendal is the dream and in planning but getting round the M6 which cut it up many years ago I reckon will be too expensive a project. Agree the local pricing is cheaper than the Lakes for now. John

The boat was a good standard and easy to operate. There was no freezer but a full size fridge which we didn’t find a problem. They are based at Garstang in one of the marinas. I know the wide beam boat you mean Picallo which we were thinking of trying next time but they are all designed with the same decoration. The canal can be a shallow in places (around the edges) but there’s not a lot of traffic so staying in the middle is the way to go. John

We had an enjoyable narrowboat break last week on the Lancaster canal. It’s nice to have a change of scene and this Canal is very scenic following the coast up around Morecambe bay. It follows the lie of the land with no locks (apart from a few down to Glassen dock but no hire boats allowed on this small stretch) it makes it an easy cruise. The boat we hired Calando from Duck island boat company was very nicely fitted out with exceptionally comfy beds. We got as far up to Carnforth going north and Billsborow south. Would recommend to anybody thinking of trying this. John

At last we have had a great day out on the water with the wind dropped from the last few weeks and the sun out all day ( apart from very misty early morning which disappeared very quickly). Boat cleaned inside and out and a well deserved Sunday lunch at the Waters edge Bramerton which was up to the usual good standard. John

Had the the boat 12 months and realised yesterday I don’t know what the middle switch on photo is for on the dash panel. Help please, probably just having a brain freeze😂 John

There are quite a few Sheerline 950s about for sale Carole at the moment as we were thinking of viewing one. The drawback with this model is the rear access but it looks to have been sorted properly with your old boat👍 John

Ive been using the Apple Pay app to pay for things a few years now it’s a great idea you won’t regret it. If you want I will show you how to use it next time we are in the pub 😂 John

We certainly have been lucky here in Broadland the last week with the weather, quite cold today though next weekend is looking good as well. Took the boat out for the first cruise of the year on Sunday afternoon canopy down ! John

Not a September one but have a May 2008 meet one somewhere at Burgh castle in our first boat a Quicksilver 540 cruiser. John

I have just called at our boat and have the same condensation problem in the aft section of the boat (front cabin all well as I have a dehumidifier set on a timer )l It was soaking in areas. I think whilst the tube heaters x 2 in have been doing there job in the engine bay on a thermostat they must have been on for a while and caused all the condensation. I may run antifreeze through the raw water next week and forget it until spring as I always think I can extend to a winter cruise but rarely do. John
