  1. I have no idea if this link will work as it is a video being shared on FB of a dinghy race on the Loire but it makes the 3RRs look very tame in comparison! https://www.facebook.com/nathanael.lemaire/videos/10226610924130121/
  2. Being under the Stansted arrival flight path coming in from the south (which is less used than the other direction) and also able to see planes flying up higher into Luton, I downloaded the flightradar app at the beginning of lockdown last March - more for curiosity to see what was still flying. For the first few months seeing a plane was almost a novelty and nearly everything into Stansted and out of Heathrow was freight. For the first time I could hear the skylark from my garden. Now a lot of the non freight flights in and out of Stansted are domestic flights to the likes of Dublin and Scotland. Wizz was eastern Europe and Ryanair, domestic and other destinations in Europe. EasyJet much quieter if any? Out of Heathrow it is a mixture of long haul and freight. The 17 year old son of one of my work colleagues works at Stansted in Boots at the weekend - his job has survived! But for others living around the airport hubs, it is a very difficult time.
  3. Ryanair, Easy Jet and Wizz have been flying in and out of Luton and Stansted throughout! You only have to look at the flightradar24 to see where they are going to and from! We live under the fly path to Stansted (at times) - it is a lot quieter but not 100% quiet
  4. I know the feeling - it is very difficult. Been there done that!
  5. They upped sticks and moved to France. No longer in existence on the Broads
  6. I better book my week 👍👍👍👍
  7. Yes she was. When my father died my mother lent her for several years during the summer months
  8. Safe journey home - enjoyed your travels as always on my favourite boat
  9. WR has an electric fridge, inverters for charging, shore power, even electric lights but heating and hot water eluded my bank balance. Keeping her afloat was paramount 🙂
  10. There used to be tube heater in the engine compartment with thermostat. If that could be retrieved you could have used that? The remaining two which were in the cabins in winter I have. One spends the winter and this spring in my greenhouse. Very useful as well!
  11. You were very brave taking the old girl over Breydon, even I wouldn't have done that today! I have had one rough crossing in modern years but that was in the opposite directions. Hope you shut the front port holes - otherwise you might have a wet bed! Enjoy the take away!

What year was that? A big thank you for making that section accessible to the private boater. A fascinating part of the river system
  13. And doing 'home' delivery this weekend up to 3 1/2miles
  14. In Hertfordshire, when I had my first jab (Pfizer) which was arranged through work at the local hospital I was given a card and the date and time for my second jab. However, my husband and daughter who has the AZ jab through the doctor's surgery, got given a card and then had to wait for a text from the doctors to say they could book their second jab. My eldest daughter in Wales had her first jab through work (Pfizer), was given a second date but this subsequently got brought forward.
  15. Enjoy your weekend on my favourite boat!
  16. Following another thread it has been noted that the entrance to the inner broad is currently closed off with bouys. The BA have said they were not aware of this and are speaking with the landowner to get it re-opened. It would be wrong to speculate the reason until that is actually known
  17. I know of at least one situation where the helm of a larger boat (and normal large crew numbers) has down sized to crew/helm a smaller cruiser with just two on board! That actually means one less cruiser because the small cruiser was entering anyway
  18. Not really considering that some people might have difficulty employing a large crew or boats still not in the water (like my White boat)

    My Day

What a worry. No words can say more
  20. Having bragged about the miles I had walked you caught up big time this week. Weather, cold weather don't agree with me in April. Plan two walks this week though!
  21. Sunny days are okay as you can follow the direction of the sun even under trees. Cloudy days are worse as you can completely loose your bearings. Invest in a new phone as Mr Google can help you even with data usage off!!!
