  1. Wonderful meal last night as Julie had the lasagne and I went for Steak and Ale in a large Yorkshire with chips The food was delicious and hearty, just how we like it We have had breakfast this morning at the Ferry House and aren't rushing to leave as we are going to give the boat a wash down, top up the water and a once over inside before taking the dogs for a walk down the riverbank And no I still can't the images upright from my phone and I have tried submitting them the wrong way up, landscape, portrait... Whatever I try doesn't appear to work
  2. I am going to get a complex with all these side on photos.... With others doing it right! 😢
  3. Now sort the others! 😂🤣😂🤣
  4. You are good at something... 😂🤣😂🤣🤣
  5. Lovely to meet you both too AND Snowbird looks stunning! ❤️ Although she may be in trouble if you try to move whilst facing down hill......🤣😂🤣
  6. I tried to upload these photos also, but every time I did they were sideways for some reason! 🤷🏻
  7. That's going to be a nightmare... Alternative route needed!
  8. Couldn't have wished for better weather.... It may not to last, but we do intend to make the most of it. Just a warning for those travelling from the West and cross Sutton Bridge. The roadworks are a shambles! There isn't much notice as you approach, but the right hand lane you normally take to cross the bridge is shut at the roundabout before the bridge There is no warning of this so you get a chaotic scene as locals who know it's shut, stay in the nearside lane and try to undercut those who aren't aware it's shut and what we saw was akin to the start of the Le Man's with everyone jostling for a place. It took 15 minutes to get through which isn't bad, but the traffic was light and it's very early in the season! I wouldn't want to go that route in the holiday period! But we made it and Roxy and Yogi soon settled into their routine MS looked a bit grubby, but we put that down to the weather of late and she wasn't used last week So one of my jobs this week is to get her sparkling again We even found a spot for Julie's flowers our son Mike sent her The new dashboard was looking good and I can confirm the new engine was lovely and quiet and turned over beautifully We are now at the Ferry House after a run up towards Bramerton, before turning and heading to our overnight mooring
  9. Start of another trip on Moonlight Shadow, as we were up at 5, packed the car and set off around 6.45 and we had a very easy relaxed run to our first stop to give Roxy and Yogi a walk before we breakfast We are now sat on the decking in glorious sunshine at Ivy's Farm
  10. The paddle boarder’s pontoon at the Locks is a great idea We visited last summer and it was chaos there as paddle boarders and canoeists struggled to get to land or back aboard due to the high quay heading The majority of paddle boarders had travelled from Geldeston Village, whilst the canoeists where in a group from Beccles and we assisted quite a few of them who were really struggling. It may also help some to lift their boats or boards out of the water as they take a break to make room for more visitors
  11. We have to agree Helen Its one of our must visit places now as we love the park and the variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants in the area I have no doubt the comment is just a reflection of their disappointment at Stonegate's decision I wish them the very best for the future and hope the Commodore can remain one of the very best establishment's to visit, especially on a sunny day when you can have a beverage on the terracing or grassed areas whilst looking out onto the Broad
  12. Be careful on the drive home as it's not very nice out there https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/weather/storm-dudley-hammers-norfolk-power-cuts-8696530 Hope Graham is back to his usual self soon
  13. They are open Wednesday to Saturday each week and do take out and accept dogs in the bar area https://www.casamiabrundall.com/# Also https://www.facebook.com/TheStreetBrundall/
  14. The home mooring is really well sheltered, (see pictures) so she will be fine I take it you are tucked up nicely now @YnysMon
  15. Enjoy the rest of the week Helen / Graham Anything happening at the Yare PH of note? The walk into the village to the Ram and / or Casa Mia are nice also We once planned to walk to the Shoulder of Mutton at Strumpshaw as the footpath beside the station takes you that way, but we never made it as friends made alternative arrangements so if you like a walk a bit further afield and the weather is OK you may want to give it a try Other than that drives out or train journeys are good options, especially with a floating hotel to come back to Stay safe and have a good one
  16. Great to see the work being completed on the syndicate boats at Horning Pleasurecraft Looking good 👍 https://www.facebook.com/110557400763374/posts/438776234608154/
  17. We always had a warm welcome and loved the quirkiness of the place, the pub grub was very reasonably priced and not Michelin star standard but tasty and plentiful The clientele were great also and every time we visited someone new or an old face would engage in conversation It was the type of place you could visit as a family, as a gang of mates or alone and not feel out of place Our kind of pub!
  18. We have always used shore facilities where available and the onboard facilities when not, or at times of the day when it was just impractical (Early morning visit gents!) As such in many years of boating, on many different vessels, with a variety of shipmates we have never needed a pump out midweek for a 7 day trip and rarely also on a 14 dayer. I do recall we had a fortnight on Moon Voyager once and where we also went south for 4 days with 5 adults on board and did arrange a pump out, but other than that I can't recall ever needing one... That was more down to 3 early 20s lads on board who had one night.....to the next morning in Norwich drinking copious amounts of alcohol followed by huge kebab's!! But other than that occasion I don't recall needing one
  19. Brilliant photos and lovely to see how calm and relaxed everything looks Look forward to seeing Elaine's photos also Until next time Take care
  20. If you like the Horning / Wroxham area it may be worth considering these https://www.watersidebreaks.com/description/watersidegrandlodge.htm They are off Grebe Island next to both JB Boats https://www.jbboats.co.uk/ And Norfolk Boat Hire who both offer day boats for short or longer bookings at a reasonable price http://www.norfolkboathire.co.uk/index.html In addition you also have Boulter's Marine who offer day boat hire A good website to check is here https://www.norfolkbroadsboathire.biz/dayboathire.asp But as others have said, you may have to compromise and book the houseboat and day boats separately
  21. So do I Always room for improvement, but she is a fine vessel in great condition
  22. It's weird when you haven't done it before, but you soon realise your eyes are amazing and you start to see things as if it was daylight We loved the calm and relaxed early morning cruise Conversely I once cruised from Acle in daylight but thick morning fog towards Great Yarmouth and I hated it and will never do that again Thankfully by the time we got to GY it was blue skies, but travelling in foggy conditions was a mistake!!
  23. Moonlight Shadow has navigation lights and we have used her in the dark
