  1. Thank you to all the Friday Friends for playing my quiz this evening. I hadn't had the pleasure of hosting for a while and it was a lot of fun. The scores were close as well so everyone did brilliantly. Kate was 3rd with 9 points Tigerhawk was 2nd with 10 points And our very worthy winner was Arthur with 11 points. What can I say ... well done Arthur
  2. Lovely write up Simon and photos. Hope it's a peaceful night onboard. Safe travels home tomorrow. :)
  3. Enjoy your time afloat Helen. It was an interesting sunset sky. You had to catch the moment before it changed again.
  4. Bumping this up. Mustn’t forget to be there myself! 🤗
  5. Wow! Your week is certainly flying by. I’ve not moored down Womack Dyke for a long time but always enjoyed it.
  6. It’s interesting because we’ve been at Ranworth a few times recently around 10am. No way all the boats had just arrived but clearly many folk were not in any hurry to leave and mostly the rangers seemed to be leaving them alone.
  7. Lovely photos but such a shame that you were far from your best. I’ll happily take that over travelling in Essex and London in the 2020s.
  8. Looks like you’re getting some great moorings.
  9. March is such a great time to be out. And it will soon come round now we’re into October.
  10. We were at Ranworth on Friday and saw them setting up the marquee. Wondered what was going on. That would explain it.
  11. Those sights are so familiar to me now. Haven’t had the best weather for people watching by the river this year … Maybe next summer. 🤔
  12. Wow! Beautiful photos. 😎
  13. Well this is a good way in advance but if I don't post it now I'll probably forget. Rounds for next Friday's quiz will be How Many? Trees TV Characters When Did It Happen? It's Autumn Who Am I? Hope to see as many Friday Friends as possible in the new chatroom - http://www.nbnchat.com/chat Eyes down look in around 8.35pm.
  14. Oh Helen, that’s a shame. But if you get any Fridays when you’re not at the band please do give it a try. You would always be welcome.
  15. Hope the sunshine helps to lift your spirits. Love to you and Marina. x
  16. I’ll echo that … a big thank you to Arthur for the chat room. And a big thank you to Bern for the quiz. It was great fun with the Friday Friends. Thinking cap on for next week’s questions. 🤔
  17. Sending you best wishes Ian. We’ve recently donated via another channel. Here’s a general link to Macmillan’s donation page. https://www.macmillan.org.uk/donate and one to Cancer Research https://www.cancerresearchuk.org for anyone wanting to donate who doesn’t have a coffee morning to get to.
  18. Brilliant. Just tried it and all is well.
  19. Always enjoy reading your tales David. Lovely photos too. We have only ever had a September holiday on the Broads once. We hit the jackpot with the weather that year and it was one of the busiest times we’ve ever seen. For anyone who watches my YouTube channel that was September 2016 on Moon Beam hired from Horizon Craft in their last season.
  20. I’m so glad you’ve managed to moor at North Cove. I’ve only spent one night there but it stands out as one of the best moorings ever. Beautiful part of the river. It’s where I first heard cuckoos the year we were there, probably a June visit.
  21. Lovely reading your tale Kate. I love Somerleyton Gardens having been there a couple of times. I have no real inclination to want to cross Breydon but we haven’t done the southern rivers for over 8 years now. Just not been any boats based down there that we want to hire. I’m still so glad that our first Broads hire was from Brundall in the Swancraft days. And before I joined much social media. It meant that I didn’t read any stories about the tides and the rivers to put me off. The north is beautiful and probably mostly more sedate. But I hope you get down the Waveney to Beccles as that’s my favourite stretch of river. Although Brundall to Bramerton is very special too.
  22. I have watched them do this at Wroxham Bridge with boats stuck on the Coltishall side. Quite an operation.
  23. Unusually for us we have a few days next month when we could get in a midweek break somewhere but we’re not particularly bothered whether we do or not. Now if Ferry Marina come up with last minute discounts then that might be a different matter … 🤔
