  1. Are , may well be right , would explain why I cannot find them I have been on Marlows site as was suggested in the other place , sadly they are not listed
  2. Yes , Kate had spotted those , they are a bit thinner than existing lines , but have page marked them . not sure they are the soft feel ones either , but your help appreciated is Robin
  3. We are seeking a pair of mooring lines to match our front ropes does anyone know who may stock them please as we are finding them difficult to source Tried Boulters , wards , both jeckles and Norfolk marine
  4. Surely mean she saved your sandwiches you already had the bacon
  5. Another , and by all accounts, safer option would be to take a picnic and eat it in the glorious park overlooking the Broad , weather dependant of course .
  6. Katie had a pizza at the Commodore which was just under a tenner and certainly filled her up. we tried The Wherry on a Sunday evening where we both ate the carvery meal which was about £12 good sized portion of meet and yes if so wished you could pile the Yorkshire , cauli cheese and veg as high as you wished . we are both mid 50's and didn't feel out of place at either venue but the Wherry felt more "old school"
  7. Big thumbs up from me for The Wherry carvery and also The Commodores food , though I feel the older generation would prefer the Wherry
  8. I too hate pubs with doormen , as a publican I used to keep an eye on any groups and diffused any potential trouble . one of my pubs was The Merton Arms in Cambridge which had the reputation as the roughest pub in Cambridge , I was there for 3years and was in my early twenties then , we didn't have to call the police once and in all those years there was only one occasion where a minor scrap occurred. if you can imagine a group of 200 skinheads , punks, bikers et al singing along to Nelly the Elephant by the Toy Dolls at full pelt you can imagine the atmosphere, come last orders I used to turn the jukebox off and play the Theme tune to postman Pat which they also all sang along to and left in good spirits with a smile on their faces , in fact no other pub in the vicinity used to call time as their customers all knew when they heard the Merton chorus singing Postman Pat that it was time to go home unfortunately a lot of areas now insist on door security as a condition of licence (especially if opening beyond 23:00hrs )
  9. Kate and I did notice last week that a lot of the older offerings from Richardsons were looking very smart in retro colour schemes especially the grey/maroon finish
  10. We're afloat for the forum birthday bash over the bank holiday 26th , hope to be out before but will have to do some work I guess so may not be able to
  11. Great blog , as usual Robin , perhaps an idea for Sheila's Christmas stocking ?
  12. A very warm welcome from Kate and I
  13. Back home now after a day spent in Norwich and looking forward to our next visit in August please excuse photo quality we are neither of us David Bailey and we just use our smart phones for the pics
  14. Wednesday we decided to moor at our home mooring in Hoveton , spend the day on the coast by car then pop over to the Shed and order a take away curry from Coltishall (very good but took over an hour to arrive)
  15. Tuesday a visit to Ranworth then the evening outside the Swan Horning , £10 to moor but redeemable against food which they were fully booked for , but hey ho like the mooring and we had an excellent meal in the New Inn and yes that's me on the top of the tower and Kate outside the tearoom
  16. Our journey back north after another evening at OBYS and an excellent carvery at The Wherry
  17. Next stop Beccles , no pics from this evening but The Admiral has posted plenty , the next morning we accompanied him and Mary Jane and others to Geldeston and the Locks Inn And in case you're wondering that is not MM in the last but one pic
  18. Oops missed Thursdays evenings pics , lovely evening in the Bell , but beware the current near the bridge when mooring
