  1. Spent the weekend picking up our new (to us) boat. We can now moor stern on, no outboard to get in the way. The Alpha is twice the size of our old Viking and much easier to manoeuvre. Probably more importantly the boss likes it so she shouldn't moan at me for getting in the way[emoji57] Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  2. I have a beretta 3.5 inch for geese you also spend a lot of bucks per bang with 3.5 inch shells. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  3. That sounds like a very familiar tale. We bought our first boat, a 3 year old viking 24 in August 2017 and had a really good first year as boat owners on the Broads. The weather helped a lot but we were hooked. It didn't take us too long to realise that we wanted this that and the other from a boat, most of which weren't on a viking 24! We started looking about 4 months ago and looked at anything that had a very similar set of requirements to yours. We picked an Alpha 35, 2 berth with lots of living space. We are picking her up next weekend, hope we got it right this time [emoji6] Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app

  9. I am considering buying one, does anyone have any experience of owning one or know of anything specific to sheerlines to look out for when viewing one. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  10. Wild goose is beautiful to eat I have had lots, I'm my opinion they are also the most challenging & best shooting going. Pinkfeet are the best followed closely by graylags. Cook like braising steak with lots of onions. Canada geese stuff with a orange and a brick, roast for 2 hours chuck the goose and eat the brick. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  11. We have 3 lakes at our club 2 are open all year 1 has a closed season. I can't say we have noticed a difference in fish or wildlife on them. What I miss is the exitement of June the 16th coming around, the anticipation after 3 months was better than waiting for Christmas. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  12. We are up this weekend. It looks like a few days in the marina for us as well until the wind dies down a bit. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app

  15. I have hired lots of narrow boats in the past. I may have been lucky but I have never had a problem with any of them. But I think the best of them have been from Black Prince. The marina at Chirk on the Llangollen Canal have been brilliant and it is a really nice stretch of canal and from the aqueduct to Llangollen is a real experience. 16. It's just plain ugly. I would not want it even if the inside is like a Palace. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  17. Sutton Staithe boatyard are quite good.
  18. Have a look on 12v planet lots of simple explanations
  19. With an output of 1.5W it won't put a lot of juice into your batteries. On a really sunny day you might get 0.08 amps so all day to put 1 amp into you batteries cloudy days a lot less.
  20. It's broads edge marina, channl down to water and pump out where it joins the main river.
  21. I think he must have been in the floating pontoon
  22. Yes only with first registration. You can buy replacements from BA but he said they were £9 and I could not find them on the BA website. Now I have these I am glad I didn't. The ones that arrived will look much better.
  23. I was crossing Barton broad at the weekend on the way to Irstead staithe for a quiet pint. Out if nowhere a broads ranger appears and chases me down. The boss asked me what have I done, I wasn't speeding or anything else wrong that I could think of. It turns out he couldn't read my reg numbers from wherever he was having a cup of tea. He was alright about it but suggested that mine were faded and that I should replace them. When I got back home on Sunday evening I found a supplier on the net. www.VinylLetteringOnline.uk So I ordered a 3 sets on Sunday evening. They arrived today look really good and simple to order if anyone needs any I would recommed.
  24. That looks correct and I am glad I dibnt have to add the extra 54 m2 to mine ?
  25. That depends on your power usage and the output from your solar panels. If they are large enough they will fully charge your batteries.
