    My Day

Well done Ray! I too became suddenly decided to become green fingered but realise I am not. So far I’ve managed to kill two spider plants, a peace lily and best of all, mint. As I understand it, all those plants are virtually impossible to kill but Ive managed it. I had a brief successful few weeks with some other herbs but they are now giving up and so am I
  3. That’s fantastic news Ian. Hope to see you both out and about on the rivers soon :)
  4. Bit confused (doesnt take a lot!) why are the BA involved with that property regarding planning?
  5. Desmond has only just recently stopped jumping up when we start the engine. He used to leap onto me. Now it’s just a look of ‘oh we off again?’ and goes back to sleep. Also he’s just started to take himself off to his bed in the bow berth leaving us in the saloon in the evenings so it’s taken a while for him to be fully chilled. Lindy our old greyhound did get used to it but we were out every couple of weeks like we are now so it’s become the norm for Desmond . How often are you onboard? Not sure if grey hounds like Cave beds.

    Boat Fire

Thank you Vaughan and Brundall. We are now going to be removing ours at the weekend
  13. When I came across the videos it prompted me to remember fantastic childhood holidays and a few when i was older and they were the reason why we ended up buying a boat. So its all Robin’s fault!
  14. The rhubarb and ginger ice cream at Toad cottage was amazing. Cant wait to stop at How Hill again just for the ice cream
  15. Would be fab to have this documented on YouTube like Tally Ho ….
  16. I guess the towing of a car depends on the size of the motorhome on whether its worth it or not. Ive been watching the Bob Earnshaw vlogs. They have been on the Isle of Wight which looks, so far in this series, to be difficult to get to places other than in a small car. I think if we get serious about a change from water to wheels that we need to hire one and not just launch into this!
  17. Thank you. It maybe for us in the future. I’m really keen to explore other areas of the UK, especially Scotland. The issue we both have is the thought of dealing with cassette toilets 🤢and problems finding parking spaces for a motor home when on day trips off the camp site. Ive seen little cars being towed behind motorhomes which seems the ideal. I know a caravan is completely out of the question for Graham.
  18. I’m curious as to costs of running a motorhome annually including fuel and pitch fees compared to owning a boat. I’m quite keen on the idea but Graham isnt.
  19. Dad had been on boating holidays since the 40s I believe with his parents. In 1969 when I was three months old I was plonked on board and apparently bathed in the sink. Dad hired Bermudas and Caribbeans while I was a tot before eventually hiring Connoisseurs. It was the annual holiday with my parents and brother until my brother and I left home when I was in my early 20s. Quite a few years went by then my ex and I hired a Connoisseur when the kids were about 8 and 11 years old in the mid 2000’s. Another long gap and then in 2017 I had been watching the Captains Blogs which got me all enthusiastic about the Broads and said to Graham we should get a boat. The most spontaneous decision I’ve ever had. We ended up getting the wrong boat to start off with, bought a different one, still wrong and finally got Luna and became founding members of the Three Boats in a Year Club. Best thing we ever did. The photo must be from 1970, little me and mum. My favourite place was the ‘beach’ at Salhouse. I was only thinking the other day and got very nostalgic really missing the family holidays. Sadly mum and dad are just not able enough to even join us on a hire boat and we do all the work.
  20. Love the duck photo! The bathroom looks fab. Wish our bathroom at home looked like that.
  21. “Its just come up again as logged put but i just used the back arrow key on my ipad and it shows me as logged in and able to view latest post section without having to press accept and sign in” ignore that, I cant view latest posts at all now
