  1. With age comes wisdom so I take a sip from everyone's pint before coming back from the bar.... it's the least I can do to stop folks from wasting beer! They'd thank me, if they knew I'm sure 🍺🍺🍺 😁
  2. It certainly does! More than one! Thanks again 🍺
  3. Thank you, it's very windy out and it's making it feel colder than it probably is! Speedy help from Rum Punch saves the day! 🍺
  4. Thank you! Now nice and warm and will reset time/day/clock later. πŸ‘
  5. Can't find this model online, it definitely works but up to now we've pushed random buttons. Is there a way to override the timer which I suspect we've accidentally set and just turn it on.. please lol Brrrrrr
  6. Not at all, it's something that creeps up on us all. Just a few weeks ago I read something about this by the NHS with some exercises and having nothing better to do tried them and I was genuinely shocked at how bad I was at them now as I always thought I had a good sense of balance!
  7. They wont.. everyone knows that grandparents are special people πŸ‘πŸΊ

    The Broads

I'm pretty sure that everyone who has commented here likes to see people enjoying themselves, that's not really the problem, it's antisocial behaviour that ruins other people's enjoyment that's the problem!

    Who Agrees

The article goes a bit over the top, the writer clearly has an axe to grind against all motor boats as a sail boat enthusiast. Having said that, the problem does exist of course but depriving everyone of a responsible tipple while on holiday because of the bad behavior of others won't wash!

    The Broads

Our first boat holiday was in the early 80s, we hired the cheapest (oldest) boat available and a lot of our first ever handover was about turning the greasers and checking the oil every morning and mopping the decks. The water pump failed halfway across Barton and we had to be recovered. It was an adventure and we loved every minute of it and even though we were a young married couple we knew that somewhere in our future would be our own boat and living in Norfolk.

    The Broads

And yet, up to a point, they are believable sadly. We can guess where both reviewers were talking about without trying too hard. It's not by any means all like that but that won't be obvious to people reading reviews. I'm not sure there is any answer to the problem as sadly their experience represents today's society "enjoying themselves" Have the Broads been mis-sold as a destination for so long that there is no turning back. If people came because it was "camping in nature on the water" rather than a "luxury yacht in Monte Carlo" It would improve for us that love it but possibly destroy local businesses.
  12. I have to say that I do support the application of the forum tos in this case. The report by the bbc above is very unhelpful in that a perception by a shocked and grieving relative must be taken in the wider context and not published before all testimony and evidence is heard, considered and summed up by those in possession of as much information as can be garnered. We only have to imagine ourselves for a moment as one of those involved to understand the feelings and perceptions that inform their comments.
  13. There is one listed here - https://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/carpark/blyburgate/nr34/beccles/?arriving=202304122300&leaving=202304130100 This is from a web search so I don't have personal knowledge of it's suitability but there's a phone number in the link to check details.
  14. Wow, luckily I've not seen anything like that! Clearly that is just spoiling things for everyone around them! Completely anti social πŸ™
  15. Over refreshing can be a problem... I'm told 😁 Presumably those in serious need of refreshment will find it anyway and those decent folks who would simply like a glass of wine with their picnic will be the only ones to suffer - it was ever thus πŸ™
  16. I was just looking at them (an ad popped up just as I was looking at sim contracts... go figure!) Good prices πŸ‘
  17. Lebara is looking like the way to go so far, their sim only prices easily beat BT even after the Broadband discount. I'm intending to drop the landline and TV packages altogether, they are pretty much redundant for us as long as we still buy a TV licence we can get what we need. BT offered me a deal... for only Β£10 more a month I could have exactly what I have now with a more exciting description πŸ™„
  18. I know this has been discussed before but it's possible the answer changes over time. We currently use BT/EE for the complete home package but this month's bill is a joke and our contract is expiring soon. So while onboard a boat does anyone have a recommendation please for a different provider with reasonable signal access? Given, of course that it's going to be patchy. Thanks in advance
  19. That seems odd given that so much of the content across the internet is misinformation already.
  20. How tech (and medical) advances affect humans in ways including redundancy and ethics is all part of the fascination for me. Sounds like a book I should read, thank you for the recommendation πŸ‘
  21. It may, alternatively, have the effect of specialist knowledge no longer being published on the internet, from which we'd all be the poorer. Presumably attribution is something that can be sorted in the software, let's hope so.
  22. It's interesting stuff though, despite errors we can all spot as real world residents, it has come up with a plan that is at least adaptable.... imagine asking Goggle the same question just a couple of years ago! Progress always starts somewhere, give it a few years and it will probably take into account the problems we have seen and book your reservations along the route for you!
