  1. Sorry for your loss Carole, in every way a member of the family and who will always be kept alive in your hearts and memories.
  2. The current set came with the boat plus 2 loose ones in the locker to tie on ad hoc and a huge one towed in the water to protect the the swim platform (that was half white and half oil!) I think just replacing the sausages and keeping the 2 blue balls may be the way to go.
  3. That looks impressive! Thank you 👍
  4. Good point, oddly our fender cleats are below the strake. In your photo Norfolk Lady looks very well protected 👍
  5. Now that you mention it I think I saw an ad for buy 4, get a 5th free a while ago! Thanks for that! 👍
  6. Any recommendations for an effective fender cleaner? Have just priced up a full new set and it seems a lot purely to look nice when the old ones are perfectly functional. She has 8 standard, 4 ball and a bow fender... £😱
  7. 44 years for me next month.... still haven't learnt 😂 This trip included - "Bow? Do you mean the front?" "If you meant the right side you should have said, I can't translate starboard when I'm trying to tie a rope" "You said the dog lead was in front of the helm, that's behind it from where I'm standing" Naturally, I wouldn't trade her for the world though 🙂🥂
  8. ... and they say there are no press gangs any more! 😁
  9. The Ship's Dog is happy to be home....
  10. I just can't get the quality of crew I need 😂 I have opened negotiations with The Admiral to buy a new set, the current ones are white and I've never found a way to really bring them back up to scratch. Luckily we cover everything with throws.. this one will be thrown away I think! And thank you for your kind words 🍺
  11. I love that idea! There may be an occasional glimpse from now on 👍
  12. Yes, in the first photo. We were lucky not only was the mooring dry but the path up to the church was dry and easy walking all the way. The bonus was having it all to ourselves Saturday night. That is where I took the photo of the yacht by the way.
  13. She tries to get in every shot 😂
  14. I totally agree 🍺😁
  15. I knew I should have changed her name to something more alliterative 🙂 Days afloat 6 Nights it was cold 5 Pubs 4 Crew Mutiny 3 ("discussions" when mooring) Dog vomit etc. on bed 2 Third party lunatics 1 Things that went wrong with the boat 0 We all had a lovely time, must do it again soon 🍺

    My Day

Today, for the first and I hope the last, time I submitted a report of another craft to the BA. I am not a complainer and generally shrug things off with a live and let live attitude. The craft in question overtook me at speed on my starboard side between us and the bank and then cut across my bow giving my starboard bow quarter a glancing blow with his port stern quarter. I keep thinking was this in any way my fault but I was simply cruising at about 4mph and there was a wide empty river all around us! Have just moored and happily we have sustained no damage. I obviously won't name the boat here but it was not a hire craft.
  18. I didn't know there was fuel/pumpout at Womack, where is it located please?
  19. Updates often seem to bring glitches, it's good that you have it sorted out now Chris 👍

    My Day

Thurne Mill sails were turning today. I haven't seen this before so held my new phone in my left hand, out the window over the river while also solo helming 🙂
  21. Nooooo! I meant me and Gill and the dog! As you well know 😂😂😂
  22. I forgot.... we haven't met for that pint yet! 😂🍕🍮🍰🍔
  23. That's our official height although with full tanks, a couple of people aft and the nav light mast down we could probably scrape 8' (scrape is not a word I like in this context)
  24. Great photos 👍 Looks like a beautiful day! (I didn't realise that Somerleyton wasn't always passable. I've had too many low air draft boats!)
