  1. The best approach is don't pay and state your case if asked to pay, if not asked just ignore the fee. They can't heap big legal fees on an unpaid bill without proving it's legally owed.
  2. We stopped at reedham Friday afternoon and Dave (Irish quay guy) said at least we're not charging yet, I pointed out I won't be paying anyway, his reply was "no problem by me I'm just here to tie ropes and pass on info to BA". So no reason whatsoever to get arsey with ba ground troops, it's the tw** in the hat where the problem lies.
  3. So why was a ba guy inspecting your boat in the first place? Or was it a bss guy and slip of the keyboard?
  4. Your post sums it up well and makes you an ideal candidate to join those of that have written to truly Harrison mp, it don't take long and the email address is on the faceache page. And anyone else that hasn't written get to it.
  5. But there may be some stupid answers.... I apologise in advance...
  6. So under engine is the deepest part of bilge then, oil catch tray is the solution for bss, but oil absorbing pads (also hold diesel) work really well and float on water so it can be pumped out underneath fairly cleanly, I always have them under my engines as it keeps the grp a lot cleaner.
  7. What boat and engine setup?
  8. The bss inspector is talking crap, bss is nowt to do with the broads it's inland waterways in general, bss doesn’t allow a bilge pump from under an engine unless an oil catch tray is in place but strainers don't come into it. Unless of course he is talking about an oil separator of some sort, in which case just get an oil tray for under the engine if you can't move the pump to elsewhere.
  9. Or more like choo choo choo choo woooooo! back in your day...
  10. If it's a good enough colour for the RNLI stick with it. My old dog has done that, straight through the open sliding top at reedham quay, most embarassing. Actually my old dog did it twice but the second time was allowed, we had just changed boat and our old boat was moored in the spot we always moor at the ferryhouse so he just trotted along and jumped on as he always had, luckily he had already met Seth their greyhound and got on fine.
  11. Blimey it's hatched at last! Well it is spring. Gonna be a huge chicken!
  12. As Pret found out with sesame seeds, as long as alergens are known they shouldn't be an issue.
  13. Boat cookers are for bacon butties and coffee, pubs are for the rest and certainly not leaving at 8pm, more like not leaving till forced or barred or frog marched out by police.
  14. Staffing is a problem everywhere especially the pub/food sector.
  15. That's me put off stopping there for a night with those opening hours, are you sure that's not just for food times?
  16. My login pretty much, 'Tina TheMutt' is a nice name and looks just like my avatar, gmail is easy enough to set up an email address although it does leave a link to your regular email unless very sneaky bearing in mind google owns faceache. As for date of birth just look on any forum that lists birthdays on 1st jan and see how many 100+ year olds are still posting away, the data must be worthless by now with so many giving false details, probably why I get so many funeral plans advertised at me.... Oddly when I logged in with my previous login I couldn't get to see any BRAG content, I guess 'Ginger Muffwigg' wasn't wanted, it was from an ongoing joke at work so seemed appropriate, I can see other pages with that name but not BRAG.
  17. Strangely I kept getting told the content was not available until I logged out of faceache then it all came up for me, I do use a silly login name so maybe I've been blocked by the group as a possible snoop, as soon as I log back in it all disappears again. Edit: Letter now written to Trudy Harrison MP so I have the right to whinge now I've joined in the action.
  18. I hate to state the obvious but........ Turn it off and on and see what happens, simples!
  19. And as one that 'don't do faceache' I appreciate your copy/paste, I have tried to look at the faceache page but keep getting told the page doesn't exist for some reason.
  20. Tom Always comes back with useful Info, it's not his opinion but the view of those he's paid by(as communication man) so as said before don't shoot the messenger, I can see why he's not commenting on undefencable policies. Leave him alone and write to your mp and the bloke actually coming up with "Rob the plebs" policy, if anyone feels offended by the word plebs take it out on the person treating us as such.
  21. Will the last person to leave the naughty step please turn the light out, oh it's gone dark, oi I'm still here you know!
  22. If you live on your boat and moor up in ranworth does that then mean you live in ranworth up until the time you leave? If you are out for a week you are 'living' on the boat.
  23. No matter what I do I can't seem to get the faceache page to come up, I do have a faceache login even though I don't 'do faceache' as it's sometimes handy to find out what's going on in town, needless to say I don't use my name on there and don't post any info about me.
  24. I'll be voting for Sarah Connor in the next election just in case.... I'll be back!
  25. Trouble is it is scouring the net and learning from a dubious source at best, half of what is on the net is complete lies.
