  1. I think so too, a very happy looking heron and a very nice photo of a heron, there see, sorted
  2. I wonder if the Heron minds having his picture taken, now there's a whole different debate Seriously, thank you for the explanation of what is acceptable. I completely understand the need to protect the forum, the moderators and forum members. It must be a nightmare to keep track of everything at times
  3. Agreed but that's MY mooring
  4. My parents had glass patio doors installed and one summer afternoon at a BBQ as the evening wore on my Mum closed the door to stop bugs etc when my Brothers dog decided to bound from the top of the garden straight into the closed doors, she bounced right off them, staggered around for a little while but was okay. Never did it again Lol I also managed it after a couple of glasses of wine but that's a whole different story
  5. It's brilliant the boat has been recovered, let's hope there's not too much damage and she's up and running soon
  6. I don't watch much TV either but will be watching today. It's going to be very emotional for the whole country I would imagine. A feeling of deep pride for us all too
  7. Enjoying your tales and photos very much Kate. That last photo sums it up for me, I could sit on a boat watching that view all night long
  8. I think working with children is so much easier than being a Moderator on a Forum At the end of the day the most important thing is everyone on board are safe, you can replace a boat but not people
  9. Can't think why anyone would want to shelter in Bridgestones with all that cake and wine on offer
  10. Thoroughly enjoying your holiday blog and photos, thank you for posting. Enjoy your trip, my advice for not drowning is to not set foot in the kayak, sit on the bank with a pint and watch everyone else trying not to drown instead, much safer Have a lovely time
  11. Ooops, didn't know I was being watched
  12. What's wrong with a girlie button? Helped me out more times than I care to admit when mooring
  13. Absolutely, brought a lump to my throat. So pleased the Royal family got some private time with their Mum, Grandmother and Great Grandmother at Buckingham Palace last night. She was everyone's Queen and 'Boss' but a Mother above all else. It must be difficult to grieve so publically, I would imagine last night was very precious to them.
  14. Although a time of great sadness we as a nation can feel immense pride in the way all the services have carried out their duties. Impeccable and with dignity every step of the way.
  15. She was as beautiful as she was strong, very proud to have had her as our Queen for so long. An example set to the world for sure. Goodnight Queen Elizabeth, rest in peace
  16. I suspect that too. In these awfful times we are in you would think a group spending that sort of money and potentially more would be welcome with open arms and to stay for as long as they wished. I'm sorry this happened to you, I hope it didn't spoil the rest of your day
  17. Well done to your son, you must be beaming with pride and what a beautiful little girl you have there too, I"m guessing she won't be dating until she's 45 Loving the photos
  18. I seem to have gone off topic, I do apologise Meantime That happens a lot on here though, right?
  19. We had Sunday Lunch at Wayford Bridge a couple of weeks ago, it was very good and far too full for desert after The staff are friendly and helpful too which always makes a difference, makes you remember a place and want to go back Give it a try Andyg, I don't think you'll be disappointed although if you're thinking of Sunday Lunch I would book to be sure of a table
  20. This thread has gone from new hire boats to pubs, cafe's and breakfasts Vaughan, I love reading your posts, the knowledge you have of the Broads is amazing so thank you. As to the cost of hiring, although we can no longer use boats for which they're intended, using them as floating caravans instead, we are being priced out of the market as I am sure lot's of families are. It's a terrible shame Then I suggest you have a beer instead
  21. Welcome to the Forum from a fellow newbie I too have seen Broad Ambition on two occasions now, she is a fine looking craft for sure.
  22. Thank you so much, if you could that would be lovely You might not be too pleased to know it's probably the first of many errors on my part
  23. I'm guessing it's Johnny Crowes Staithe, one of my favourites, have fun
  24. I seem to have messed up my account login, I am Viv (Broadslady) and not Broadslass, I'm hoping the Moderators will delete Broadslass. My son's will not let me live this one down Thank you once again for the welcome and allowing me to join your Community
  25. Good Morning All My name is Vivienne, I am a Lady in her early fifties, married with two grown Son's, my husband is disabled (an amputee) we've been boating on the Broads on and off for 20 years but due to my husbands disability are unable to use boats so have been staying in land based accomodation. I have browsed this Forum for some time and only just plucked up the courage to join, bear with me whilst I find my feet Lol I'm loving the holiday tales section, wonderful photos and stories bringing back many memories of my own adventures on the rivers Viv
