Hello Mark & Tia welcome to the NBN forum from Tan & myself. I hope the weather is kind to you this weekend for the Horning Show. Ranworth Breeze used to be moored at Ferry Marina so we know the marina very well, are wellies still part of your boat kit, they were when we were there. Regards Alan

Hi Shreck, They were when we were down at the beginning of one of our weeks, we called in again at the end of the week to be told they never sold Black Bomber (I agree a very good cheese) even though we have had it from there many years. Regards Alan

Where Have My Frogs And Toads Gone?
ranworthbreeze replied to Shreck's topic in The Broadscot Lounge
Plenty of frogs in our garden, we get frog or toad spawn in various locations on our small ponds. Usually cats might have a go at frogs but not the toads. Of course the large village pond is one of the destinations for most of the frogs/toads in the neighborhood. Regards Alan -
CD's and MP3 player for us when aboard with maybe a DVD instead of the TV at night. Regards Alan

Good pictures of Bluebells, needless to say the ones in our garden have still to flower. http://www.edp24.co.uk/features/blooming_beautiful_nine_brilliant_photos_of_bluebells_in_norfolk_1_4506710 Also see the following link that announces that ancients woods are to be opened on the public on certain open days over the next two months. http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/environment/ancient_bluebell_woodlands_at_hainford_to_open_to_the_public_for_first_time_in_centuries_1_4504900 Regards Alan

Good triumphs over evil in the yesterday re-inactment of the Downham Market’s St George’s Day celebration http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/good_triumphs_again_over_evil_on_st_george_s_day_in_norfolk_1_4506901 Regards Alan

Hi Bryan, Might have been fortunate, we have managed a few moorings on the green, which is great during the day, nice spot plenty to see, watching the world go by enjoying a glass on the back of the boat. It is not a good place to moor overnight however, we only managed that once and were kept awake by the constant breaking of the waves hitting the boat because of being near to the bend in the river, needless to say we live and learn. Regards Alan

Maybe it needs to be a blooming high one to make reception better on all of the Broads. The worst place is Loddon, there is a spot less than a couple of feet square near the bridge under the trees that if that if you stretch your arm up whilst standing on one leg, that you can get one bar of reception Regards Alan

Hi Bryan, Thank you for the updates, no information of Horning, is this because you never visited or is it still a black hole with regards to phone reception? Regards Alan

There Are A Fair Few 'silver Surfers Here......
ranworthbreeze replied to Poppy's topic in The Broadscot Lounge
The main problem with this age thing is that inside your head you are still that young man or girl. I remember well my grandmother telling me that inside she still felt young, maybe it was her reason for talking to all the old dears on our estate, who were far younger than she was. She was 99 when she died, still loved and missed by us all. Regards Alan -
Hi Alan, Where about are you visiting in Devon with your motor-home? Regards Alan

Hi we all had good weather in 1974/1975, the year we started boating on the canals. It was also the time that the foundations of the Ashopton village could be seen when the Ladybower and Derwent dams were at their lowest since their creation in the early 40's (in the case of Ladybower). David & Ril came over in the late 80's so Scotland must have had another heatwave Regards Alan

My Cousin from New Zealand, come over to the UK quite a number of years ago and after seeing everyone in South Yorkshire and the Midlands went to Scotland (his birthplace) and had 6 weeks of constant sunshine and no rain. No doubt Iain will be able to tell us when that event took place, it certainly must be a record Regards Alan

God's plan for aging . . . . . Most seniors never get enough exercise. In His wisdom God decreed that seniors become forgetful so they would have to search for their glasses, keys and other things thus doing more walking. And God looked down and saw that it was good. Then God saw there was another need. In His wisdom He made seniors lose coordination so they would drop things requiring them to bend, reach & stretch. And God looked down and saw that it was good. Then God considered the function of bladders and decided seniors would have additional calls of nature requiring more trips to the bathroom, thus providing more exercise. And God looked down and saw that it was good. So if you find as you age, you are getting up and down more, remember it is God's will. It is all in your best interest even though you mutter under your breath. NOW . . .Nine Important Facts To Remember As We Grow Older #9 - Death is the number 1 killer in the world. #8 - Life is sexually transmitted. #7 - Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die. #6 - Men have 2 motivations: hunger and hanky panky, and they can't tell them apart. If you see a gleam in his eyes, make him a sandwich. #5 - Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks, months, maybe years. #4 - Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in the hospital, dying of nothing. #3 - All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism. #2 - In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird, and people take Prozac to make it normal. #1 - Life is like a jar of jalapeno peppers. --- What you do today may be a burning issue tomorrow. Regards Alan
