  1. Welcome to the forum from Tan & myself. I am sure that someone will be able to give you some information on Classic Gem. Have a good holiday. Regards Alan
  2. Hello Hylander, The £10 fee was a few years ago, I doubt it is still that figuar. I will look at updating the mooring fee information or set up a new topic so people can update any information we hav on file. Regards Alan
  3. Hi Paul, Enjoy your holiday and if you get time jot down a few words of your adventures on the rivers of the Broads. No pressure, but everyones stories and looking at the webcams keeps the rest of us going until we can get back on the water again. Regards Alan
  4. Hi Matt, You can't knock enterprise & ingenuity! Regards Alan
  5. Hi Matt, Not down to me, it will have been one of our other owners. It must have been arranged by the WRC management, I can not see them leaving the electric onto the pitches, or are these operated by the same cards from the shop? The last time I moored there I did not use card, the hook up was part of the mooring fee of £10 for the night at the time. Regards Alan
  6. Hi Jeff, My brother in law fished off the front of the boat whilst moored at the Womak Staithe, also handy for a walk up the lane to the Pub. Regards Alan
  7. Hello Jeff, You are correct it is basin at WRC on the opposite side just down from the tent and camper pitches. I am not sure there is electric posts on that side, but they may have been fitted in the couple of years since we last moored there. Regards Alan
  8. We got the bullhorn treatment at Reedham with cries of 10 ft at the bridge, we had already seen it was tight for us with everything down (we need 9ft 8inches), yes normally the bridge is 10ft at high tide, but there was a lot of water and we went under the bridge with less than 2 inches to spare. The rangers are great but in the end you are the skipper and if you hit a bridge it is down to you no matter who has given you advice. Re speeding I just leave that to Tan! Regards Alan
  9. Hi JTF, On most of the fenders is a plug with the valve behind to re pressurize them. you could try to partially fill with water (if you hang the fenders the wrong way round with the plug in the water they tend to fill by default if not set correctly) I would have thought that a fender set at river level slung from both ends would be fine. Regards Alan
  10. Sorry to report that the site is not accessible currently. If anyone has any information regarding the situation can they please let us know so we can pass on the details to the NBF forum members. Regards Alan
  11. Hi Robin, Here is a link to a UK supplier of the product. http://www.expresslube.co.uk/fuel-doctor-additive Regards Alan
  12. Hello Wynni, Welcome to the forum from Tan & myself. Lockwood is an Australian company. I have looked on their site but I can not see anything that meets your description. Is the lock a mortise or Yale type, I assume that it may be the Yale type because of the opens outward reference. If you post a picture of the lock and broken handle it may help. Regards Alan
  13. Hi Neil, I would have a word with Clive or his people up at Richardson's I am sure they will have a boat that is suitable to get you through Potter Heigham, You may have trouble however booking for 4 days over Easter rather than a week. If this is what you wish to book I suggest that you start making enquiries now so you are not disappointed. Regards Alan
  14. Hello Neil, The balance or Boat Legs as you call it is common and effect some people more than other, we also get this on narrow boats as well as Ranworth Breeze, the longer the time on the boat and if the water is choppy the worst the effect is. By far the most it is seen to effect you is sat at a computer or sat on the toilet. Joanne Lumley a national institution and heart throb of mine since the New Avengers. Note to self do not mention Joanne Lumley after talking of toilets So when are you coming back to the Broads? Regards Alan
  15. Hi Mark, I have not seen them but it sounds like a plan, from their details it looks as if it is not a starndard type of filter. Have you got any cost details? Regards Alan
  16. Hello Jeff, Now a shorter time to your holiday, I hope the weather remains kind for you. Please let us know how you get on and a few pictures would be good if you find time. Regards Alan
  17. At this rate they will be giving them away. I wonder who came up with the idea? Mark, I would be quiet about SWMBO or all she be doing is battery!!! Regards Alan
  18. We try to be helpful when we can. Like John I am also a member on most of the Broads forums and look at them from time to time to get an insight on what is new and of interest to the Broads in general. We are in the process of offering more information to both hirers and boat owners on the Broads, such as links to webcams, places of interest and activities, video links to Richardson's showing their excellent first timer video's, links to boat charter and boat hire (both day, motor and sailing). We also have sections for the boat owner for servicing, chandlery and boat inspection. All the boating forums on the Broads offer a different choice for Broads users and without them all it would be less informed and sadder place. Regards Alan
  19. Hello Lindy. Welcome to the forum from Tan & myself. Regards Alan
  20. I have just purchased 40 sponges off of Amazon for £12 including delivery. Regards Alan
  21. Sorry to report NBF is still down. Richard if you see this message and wish to give NBF members a message please feel free to do so. Regards Alan
  22. Hello Robtom, I have just done a search, have a look at these links. http://www.littleportboathaven.co.uk/Fender%20Rubbers.htm http://www.bridgerubber.co.uk/acatalog/M02.P.V.C._Fenders___Deck_Rubbing_Strakes.html Regards Alan
  23. Hello John, We saw some preparation for filming when we were down on the Broads just over a week ago. There has been some filming taken place at the Beauchamp Arms Langley up to Sunday. Please see the article on EDP24. http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/norfolk_will_be_the_star_of_film_1_2754972 On a closed set I can understand that a film crew runs the show, if however you film in public then you take the risk of public involvement, the good and the bad. It always makes me grin when a film crew get annoyed when filming in the street and someone walks past them unaware they are even filming. Also when you see outtakes and they reshoot because of a noise made during a presenters dialogue. In many cases they might as well just leave it in, most people would not be bothered or even interested. Regards Alan
  24. Hi Strowager, Yes same for me when trying to look at the site. Regards Alan
  25. Hi Neil, Did you have any trouble mooring direct outside the Ferry Inn, there can be an heavy current flow there. This or rather up on the Green is amongst my favourite mooring spots on the Broads, the pub offers honest pub fair and is well worth a visit likewise the shop/café just up from the pub. The cakes are to die for!
