  1. Hi Jim, I assume that the reeds must be cut back from time to time, of course the passage of boats helps. I only found the staithe at Rockland St Mary early last year, we managed to get there but it was fairly shallow. Did you ever see the Heron that used to walk around the tables at the Ferry Inn at Horning, it would eat most things dropped but prefered fish paste sandwiches. Regards Alan
  2. Thanks Neil, When I spoke with Linda last week thanking John for his attendance to Ranworth Breeze whilst she was at Loddon, she said it was early days yet but they are making progress. Lets hope for some pictures early next year. Regards Alan
  3. Hello Robin, A great post as always, you have discribed and traveled on what I think are some of the best locations on the Broads, well on the ones I can get to anyway. I love the brute force & ingnorance aproach to being caught up on the moorings. It was a good job you saw it the levels can vary quite a bit at Reedham, when we moor at Reedham Ferry I always set fenders at different hights after our first time mooring there, the fenders were laying on top of the walkway boards. Keep up with the story. Regards Alan
  4. Hi John, Was a good time had by all those that could attend the forum meet? As per Mark's post thank you organising the event. I hope we will have some details and pictures in due course. Regards Alan
  5. Hi Jim, I agree all road users should be aware of what is going on around them, this however is seldom the case, people park all over the place usually with no thought of how other traffic can see around their vehicals. The worse culprits are people taking their children to school on the school run, they park at junctions or on pavements and create a bigger danger to other children than the safety they provide to their own children. When in a supermarket I look at the way people operate their shopping trolleys and most of these people will have driven to the supermarket, it makes you think. My rank over, we all have them! Regards Alan
  6. It might be an idea to post a few pictures of the boat. I will not comment on the price. Regards Alan
  7. Hi Trevor, Don't hold back, say what mean. Regards Alan

  12. We come down the A47 normally and going to Brundall it is ok. A bit rough if you get behind a slow lorry but there is some dual carriageways to pass them. If the suns out or not raining we drop the hood and make the most of the journey. You should be ok early Sunday morning. Regards Alan
  13. There was an incident I think last year where the photograph showed the person jumping the barrier where their shoe was knocked off by the train. All very stupid I totally agree.
  14. Thanks Clive, For correcting me. Regards Alan
  15. I would publically whish to offer my thanks to John Cressey who came to the aid of one of our owners moored at the Loddon Staithe this evening. John called out to Ranworth Breeze which had moored up at the staithe between 6.00 and 6.30pm we asked John (who we have his dive insurance with) if he could call in and see our owners who were having bilge pump issues and may have been bottoming out whilst going up the Chet, they reported some knocking on the boat. BMS will be attending the boat in the morning and John also offered use of his yard if required. Maffett's first class service from Loddon. John you are a gentleman. Regards Alan

  18. Hi Fred, I totally agree an accident waiting to happen. People do some stupid things when at the side of water, we have seen this over years at locks or bye washes both very dangerous places and deadly if you fell in, the same can be said for fast flowing rivers. Regards Alan

  22. Well Done Clive, I love it and hope that you will do well. I also like that the boat may be used for some charity work when not hired out. I agree that the fun element needs to brought back onto the broads. What next Vikings long boats? Regards Alan
  23. Hi John, When we booked our canal holiday in Scotland earlier this year Le-Boat had a similar boat to Ranworth Breeze for hire on the Caledonian Canal at £1600 plus the usual Le-boat extra's that would have taken the full cost to over £2000. The size of the boat we would have needed would have been £3500. Regards Alan
