  3. I have just been on the Oulton Broad Webcam. The water has gone down since last night and early this morning but the water level is still over the mooring at the Wherry Hotel. When I looked at the pictures last the water was almost over the road bridge and the lock and lifting bridge were completly under water. The BA have issued a warning that the lock is out of order due to tidal damage. Regards Alan
  4. Hi Sue, If Brooms are closed then more than likely you will find if difficult to get fuel at any other location. When Brooms ran out of fuel earlier in the season the only place I could get to supply me with a limited amount was at Reedham. As Matt says Broom's is very good and if you phone their accounts department and explain the situation you should be able to sort something out. We have to do the above from time to time due to situations happening within our syndicate. Regards Alan Alan
  5. I must have deleted over 500 emails of all of the above dross, it seemed to go in fits and starts, but traffic is getting worse at the moment. Regards Alan
  6. Hello Barry, It is down to the rating of the microwave and if you want to run a kettle at the same time. You can get a lower wattage microwave at say 1000 or 1500 watts but you may have a 2kw unit and there are not many kettle under 2kw. I would say you need a 2kw inverter minimum and may be better with 3kw but as Mark says you need more batteries and a better alternator or an additional one. Most hirecraft with inverters for use of cooking etc tend to have instructions to run the engines, in my opinion more hire craft should be fitted with shore power hook ups. In your case you need the change over switching for shore power/inverter as already talked about. In the case of Ranworth Breeze we do not have space for an invertor and the additional batteries, so we use 12 volts and shore power. Regards Alan
  7. Hello Strowager, I have had dozens of these today, they are after the unwary just like the DHL messages of last week. Regards Alan

  23. Hello Raga, Welcome to the forum from Tan & myself. With regards to the repairs on your boat I suggest you have a look in the services section on the forum in the following location http://www.thenorfolkbroads.net/forum/index.php/forum/87-services/ There are a number of companies on the Broads that specialise on the repairs of wooden boats, some of which are forum members. Regards Alan
  24. Hi Gracie, The name of our boat (I say our, I have only 5% of it) is indeed Ranworth Breeze, a 2001 Birchwood 340AC cruiser. It is a share boat as you can imagine, but it went self managed in February 2012. I have been involved with the boat from the begining after I bought a share in the boat at the 2000 boat show, the boat was yet to be lauched, but we had been looking for a share scheme from around 1998 original on the Canals, at that time there were only two schemes on the canals and we went to look at both of the boats at the time and we were not impressed. We had been going on Narrow boats since 1974 and each year a group of us keep up the tradition (Scotish Canals earlier this year). There is currently about 8 to 10 share boats on the Broads, but there are a number of boats shared by more than one owner as well but these may not be formal arrangements. I have enjoyed my 13 seasons on the Broads and hoping for many more to come. Ranworth Breeze is the boat with the canopy the other boat is our sister vessle Southern Crusader (again self managed). Regards Alan
