  1. I have used marine 16 in Norfolk and soltron in kent. The Calypso in Kent has a very old Perkins and GRP moulded tank. I had a bit of fuel trouble after moving her down by road. The boat engineer there used a oil remover pump via the filler to suck all the crap out of the bottom of the tank, 43 years of accumulated crud. Shock does of soltron and extra at each fill up. Because of the limited river length I use very little fuel and that is from the local petrol station. Fingers crossed no issues in 7 years. The Norfolk boat has a fairly recent re engine and newish stainless tank. I use Brooms or the local Shell station. Again shock dose of Marine 16 and extra at fill ups. Fingers crossed no problem in 6 years. The answer is Soltron and Marine 16 both work or I have been very lucky.
  2. You can always double moor next to me, you would probably need the one behind me as well, that's over 60 foot
  3. I did read a good tip in a boating magazine a few years ago. Put a balloon over the vent in the winter, it will expand if needed but will avoid moisture ingress. Just remember to add it to the sign on the helm for seacocks, heaters and the like.
  4. Ricardo, this is Robins blog /Journal about buying a boat and moving it to the Broads. He isn't asking for advice or help so will rightly ignore most that is given. We only learn by making mistakes, or doing a lot of research.
  5. Brundall Gardens lift the very large Brooms that are too big for elsewhere. The dock is out of use at the moment for refurbishment.
  6. I spotted it the other day in the big white temporary tent.
  7. They do here and have done since the forum was set up. That is how it is and should remain.

  10. Paint Indy grey and she would be perfect for you. Really enjoying the updates.
  11. Brace yourself I have read all the different views over the years but have found some interesting information and views in this latest round.
  12. I don't know what size or age you are looking for but our Calypso has stacks of storage, more than we use, whereas the Topliner, although bigger has far less useable storage in comparison
  13. Was it you a few years ago going round and round Sheppy until the fuel ran out.
  14. Its because secretly many would like to do it but never will. I have a 1973 Calypso down in Medway, I don't think it would survive a trip to open water let alone across it. I have a road atlas, I might start planning a trip, is it left it right at the Isle of Sheppy.
  15. Keep up Ricardo Robin mentioned renewing the life raft in a previous post. I suspect Independence and all equipment will be checked within an inch of her life before even sea trials are undertaken.
  16. The Orange floats are fenders. Its all Pamerla Andersons fault that I became obsessed with boats, I couldn't keep my young eyes of them floats.
  17. Any way, getting back to fuel pump manifold valve polishing Pamerla Anderson, oops
