Each to their own, of 6 boats I have bought, I had a survey on 3 and the others I had a look over and "kicked the tyres"
The broom Scorpio I bought unseen.
My last 3 cars I also bought unseen.
Robin, the build up of condensation is probably a result of closing the air vents in the engine room. I know this was necessary to keep heat in over winter. It is worth considering a dehumidifier in the engine room next time as long as you have a drain off point even if that is through a air vent.
Put one in now with a heater and it will remove a lot of excess condensate.
Celotex is aimed at thermal insulation, a different beast to transmission of sound. Being solid it will still transmit sound.
Go for a proper sound deadening system but look to automotive suppliers and layer it.
I passed in a manual 40 years ago and drove them for about five years because very few autos were available.
I have driven autos ever since, as I drive a big jeep or a 4.3 Lexus they are only available in auto.
I drive a manual about once a year and strangely never have a problem, I suppose it is a bit like riding a bike.
The only drawback to an auto only licence is you can't hire a van.
Not only a shiny new knob but a set of custom made carpets for the rear cabins, supplied by our very own Jaws, ( Alan )
A perfect fit, because I supplied a spot on, perfect set of templates
Don't often see this in the Uk, ice formed on the outside if a double glazed door, about 1/4" thick, the car was also completely covered this morning, scraping and de-icer had no effect, I just had to heat the car up from the inside and peel it off the window. Weird
Now that's a cunning plan, I have just had 50 x 60 foot conifers reduced to 15 feet, shame the tree man took them away, oh and I haven't got a wood burner.
Apparently Network South East have closed ALL rain transport for the region due to problems with the freezing rain.
Not good if you got to work by train earlier..
Having big problems in the Medwat Towns with ice on snow and the freezing rain.
Lots of condenser boilers suffering frozen condensate pipes which cause the boiler to shut down. Done five today and I am not a plumber.
Easy fix, pour boiling water over the pipe outside, clear the ice and then reset the boiler.
Our yard gates freeze shut overnight and the yard is an ice rink.
The main roads are mostly ok but the side roads are a no go without a 4x4.
