I have driven a auto box for the last 7 years on my 3rd one of the same model. Not one problem with the auto box.

Well done OM and TVMOM for saying it so well
Hi Griff can you translate for the lessor beings (me) please?

Empathy is what is needed. Put on someone else’s Moccasins and walk that mile......
Nothing wrong with a good debate but let’s keep it at just that. I think it is a shame that Ricardo is no longer posting and hope that he will change his mind and start again. I also think that he like many of us can word things better or differently so as not to cause offence. Although I do not think there are many that actually mean to cause offence.
L&K to all.

A lot of the things I do and the manner in which I go about them may not be what the majority would do but that is why I am doing it the way I am. You won't see me doing things 'my way' and then telling others that is the best way, right way, preferred way etc - take the batteries - I am not going to say it is right for others, and I am not going to be there fitting them myself and filming things while someone comments at the risks I took, or shoddy job I made and then have me defend it. What you will see me do is sharing why I want something, getting it done by someone else and then sharing the results.
I have enjoyed you sharing the journey Robin and a big thank you for doing this.
Important to me was the recognition that your way is not always the best way, it is just your way. Respect for that. I am more cautious and do not always have the time so would have got a survey first.... then again I did fit a new transome to my little boat year before last. I say little as your rib is probably bigger.

I have really enjoyed most of this thread. Extremely informative from both sides and I have learnt a lot.
However, and there has to be one, I can see no reason why intelligent people need to resort to negative comments about each other’s point of view. There is absolutely no need.
we the members can understand that there are different viewpoints and even different interpretations of FACTs and filter accordingly. The spats just detracts from the real information on this thread.

faversham brewery is shepherd neame (well it was last time I looked - Home of spitfire beer.
Peter. The main existing one is SN, you are correct, although we used to have a nickname for it. I think they also have a micro brewery as well in the area. The Whitbread one was across the road.
-
Think it ended up as Whitbread, but yes, now Tescos. Take mum to Ask sometimes which was part of the old buildings on the corner.
-
Wish I had a £1 for the number of times I have walked or driven past that Brewery in Faversham. The smell when they were adding the Hops, especially with the other one across the road that is now closed.

When it was my turn to run the quiz a few years ago now, Jill R would be there making sure I kept the score correctly, it is very difficult sometimes.

Perhaps it would be easier to say if you are not aware of the risks, don't go! Can we no longer think for ourselves?
Most can think for themselves, but in this litigious society that we live in today that appears not to be good enough. The case of the person who sue McDonalds as they were burn by their hot coffee!
in today’s age the employer has to be able to show that the employee is fit to, and capable of doing their job. It appears to me That they are just making this easier to do.

Do not forget that we are talking about a company of many years standing. Plus a company, an agency held in respect for several decades. Their descion, their joint descion was not made lightly. It was not an individual descion. It would have been a board descion agreed by both parties.
Why? They both had a concern. A concern for their respective companies, their employees, their customers. Richardson's, Hoseasons, will have taken legal advice with regard to their position.
I personally feel disappointed by the negative and disrespectful comments made here on this forum and other forums towards two companies who have served the Broads with a commitment and deserve better.
Andrew
I totally agree, well put.
