  1. Hi Polly Right now LBBY are putting their magnificent touches to our new girl. River Song is bootiful We are looking forward to catching up with everyone out on the rivers again soon. In the meantime, TC is still for sale, and a great buy for anyone wanting a boat where all the hard stuff has already been done. She's ready to go and looking for a new crew . We will miss her - she is a wonderful boat and looking forward to more exciting trips in the future Simon
  2. Hi Trevor & Dierdre Our new boat is a Renaissance 35 called "River Song". She is our retirement present to ourselves as we actually retired in July, and with the extended aft platform, she gives me (and Dylan!) much easier access getting on and off as I have ongoing mobility issues. Will post some pictures before long, but expect to see us out on the system in the coming winter months. Simon
  3. Hylander - Thanks for the good wishes During the time we have owned The Corsican we have had many hundreds of days afloat, and whenever we wanted. It kind of puts the expense into perspective if you consider what it would have cost to hire a boat of equal quality, particularly as most of those days have been on short breaks. There are more pictures herehttp://apolloduck.net/388194 Simon
  4. Well, we are now the proud owners of 2 boats! Never a happy position to be in
  5. Dear John and Mary Jane, Just to say - I do not normally post = this is Simon's domain, but a big hello and = what a fab welcome at the visit last weekend at the waveney river centre as a new visitor for me was a great and good welcome. Thank you all for your kind and generous good feeling - er'r and sorry about the roast spuds just do not know how they failed to appear, -- next year will be a bonus - promise you all. Dylan had a fab time with all the K9"s and slept like a brick for two day's afterwards. (Simon did too!) now someone let slide that there may be a do! at Christmas or New year at Coldham Hall ; is this so ?? if so, would love to attend - please keep us informed would be a great way to end a fab year. love to all Sonia, simon, and Dylan too. thank you all for your great effort to see out a great weekend- well done! Sonia
  6. We use one every winter and let it drain into the galley sink which is about midships on TC. The boat furnishings always feel good and fresh and we have not experienced any mould problem during the 4 years we have owned her. The model we have came from B&Q and it is no longer available there. I seem to recall it has a 10 litre tank, but we always run it straight to the sink. we set it to run twice a days for about two hours a time. Hope this is of some help. Simon
  7. Best Wishes to Laura and George on your new arrival, , may you not look back, gather up your best good selves and look forward to the very best of what what went before- sleep well !!! love Sona and Simon Dylan Too! xxxxx
  8. We watched the video of the trip to Ipswich again tonight. We were almost tearful! What a cracking boat. We just had 4 days out on her and are now wondering if we made the right call……...

  12. Hi Clive & Kathy Good to see you here on the NBN and kind of you to invite us to the recent Hampton meet at Salhouse, which was a very good do BTW. No doubt we will see you on the river again before long. Are you going to the autumn meet at WRC first weekend in October? Simon The Corsican

  15. Griff Have a blast on the trip. Wish I was heading down with you on TC - but we would never keep up Lastdraft - Yep a lot of us have migrated to this side, some of us have been lurking here for ages too! Hope we can catch up on the rivers before long. Send a PM when you are next about. Simon The Corsican
  16. Hi Tim Pleased to read that your are feeling better and that Uncle Albert is back to being a bit cantankerous, normally a positive sign!!! We aren't afloat on Friday. How long will you be around for this trip? Simon
  17. Sorry to be a party pooper, but we have to call off. We have to work all weekend on a major upcoming business deal. We were really looking forward to catching up with everyone, its been such a long time! Hope we see you all on the river over the summer months. Have a great time. Simon
  18. Hi Brian It's been an age since we were in touch Moon Voyager is a really classy boat that I'm sure you will enjoy. Since we mostly cook on board, we are no authorities on eating out, but would concur about The Bridge at Acle based on recent meals out, [make sure you book though as its a busy time this week.] Hope we see you on the river. Its been too long Simon & Sonia The Corsicans
  19. Hi Geoffrey, Steve and Austin. We will look forward to seeing you at the Salhouse Spring meet. I know you just joined this forum and I hope / feel sure you will find it easy to follow. Lots of interesting info to share and good company too! See you on the river! Simon, Sonia & Dylan the dog!
  20. We will have our Weber Q100 gas BBQ on board. It's a permanent feature on The Corsican once the season proper starts if that helps.
  21. Please can you add The Corsican Simon, Sonia + Dylan the dog - we may arrive later on Friday, but Saturday & Sunday for sure, Thanks
  22. I seem to recognise this as an Atlanta 23 from the 70's . there were a few similar boats on the Trent around that time. Hope this helps Simon
  23. Yes we have used them for cleaning fenders (although you wouldn't think so at the moment ) with 1st class results! Simon
