  1. I wouldn't like to comment either way Howard, but the NBN is careful not to transgress any copyright laws, so I would think that a link would not be such a good idea.... Might be a daft question, but have you searched online at either Youtube or ther BBC to see if the clip is there already?
  2. Youtube is full of TV programme extracts Howard. I'm not saying it is right, but if the BBC was bothered about it, they wouldn't all be there.
  3. I'd never thought of it like that Keith, you may well have a point!!
  4. We've changed all our domestic lighting for LED's (luckily all the same G4 fitting) and also out anchor light. I've left the nav lights as normal bulbs at the moment as I'm not sure about the brightness for those. With all out domestic lights on, the ammeter barely flickers to show a power drain!
  5. Good selection on there Perry, but those G4 side pin planar ones look flippin expensive at £7.50 each! I paid £1.99 for 24SMD 140 Lm ones on eBay, that work really well and are just as bright as a 10W G4 bulb.
  6. In the event, though the wind was very stong at times, and the rain showers very heavy, the sea state was actually not bad. We locked through on Saturday afternoon and then into Hamilton and didn't go out, but from the shore I was surprised to see only a relatively slight swell. We opted to go from Lowestoft to Yarmouth by sea yesterday afternoon rather that spend ages at the lock (it was being manually cranked on Saturday due to a motor problem). The wind had changes to NW, so there was a bit of a chop, but no problem for us, Ian and Gav at all. It was nice to get back out in the salt after a month of engine rebuild!!!
  7. I'm guessing so Pat, and also to avoid the swing moorings etc. Don't take my word for it, but I think you'll find if you dip a boathook in front of the boat you'll find plenty of depth. 1600 pixels wide rings a bell Pat.
  8. Hi Baz We have just bought a Digihome 19" LED TV with build in freeview and DVD player from Comet for £120. It has the added advantage that it is 12V with a transformer for 240V use. All I've done is cut of the transformer lead and wired it to a 12V cigarette lighter plug. It only draws 25W too, so easy on the batteries, and is very light too! Picture and sound quality are what you would expect for the size/money.
  9. I'm not surprised Perry. With what's being forecast I'm not even sure we'll bother locking through to go into Hamilton dock, as we certainly won't be going out anyway. Might just stay in OB and walk down to the seafront instead.
  10. Glad you have got the new ship Pat! Broadedge is a nice spot, and we enjoyed our time there with our first boat until we got a spot on Womack water. We used to take Tranquil Breeze well outside the posts on Barton Broad with no problems. I did a bit of a survey from the canoe and found that it tends to be around 5ft deep pretty uniformly, though it is a bit shallower on the left hand side, coming into the broad from Stalham end. We have seen a BA ranger directing the hire craft from the top of the Ant along the right hand side near the reads during Barton Regatta, which was what prompted my survey. The channel off to Neatishead is also ok outside of the posts on the right side when heading towards Neatishead. The only place I've ever seen anyone grounded is at the very top of the broad on the left (when approaching from Stalham). With regard mooring on the Ant, I used to go with rhond anchors or tying to trees. Any chance of a piccy or two of the new vessel?
  11. Hi Sarah-Jane & John from more Sealine owners! Mark & Sue
  12. Thanks Barry, I shall have to investigate next time I'm there. Didn't know it existed!
  13. Didn't the banner pic used to get changed quite regularly once upon a time? As Trev said, feel free to trawl through any of my posts in the photography thread and use what you like. May be an idea to put the snappers name in the bottom corner of the pic too?
  14. I would certainly have thought so John, now she's all repaired and runing again!
  15. Thanks Steve, will add that to the short list, as we are likely to be up in the Brundall area anyway.
  16. Thanks Perry. I was thinking more of somewhere they could pop in a float for a while from the boat rather than a feeder rod. I guess it'd have to be one of the broads....
  17. What are your opening times nowadays Rich?
  18. We are booked in OBYS for Friday night and Hamilton for Saturday.
  19. Good mid-air shot of a jumper with no lifejacket Trev
  20. No, it definately wasn't Caravelle then, this boat was to the west of the pub (i.e the Brundall side)
  21. My youngest decided the other day he'd like ot go fishing again, having not done it for over a year. I'm a bit out of touch, so does anyone have any suggestions where might be a good little spot down south to fish just for a couple of hours?
  22. From what I heard, I think a complaint was made anyway as the BA had to have a word with someone..... Turned out the facts were somewhat different to what the BA was told though..
  23. Does Caravelle have an aft door? The boat that was raised by a huge effort from people a few weeks back I thought did have. If I'm right, that one is still floating, as the sunken one has no aft door.
  24. Jeez, that looked nasty. How on earth do they get close enough to transfer crew in those conditions?? And no, I didn't spot the pot!
