Timbo
...and apostrophe warriors. A slight blip in the bonce area has left me struggling with my own language. In the following title, is the apostrophe in the right place? Restoring Royal Tudor A Wooden Broad's Cruiser
MauriceMynah
No apostrophe needed. "Broads" is plural not possessive
MauriceMynah
It does lead me to ask which of the following is grammatically correct?... "The broads is a good holiday destination" or "The broads are a good holiday destination"
grendel
I think that depends upon whether its the location or a group of young ladies?

Polly
I'd go for ' The Broads are ' and 'The Broads NP isn't ' myself.
MauriceMynah
Sorry Charlie, worrying about grammar is something I does. All of the time I does it, never getting off of my soap box. My sister is the same and wouldn't of minded me saying so. I've gotten to terms with 'split infinitives' now being exceptable, but feel that apostrophe warrier's are still kneeded.
