Vaughan
I have been reading back over previous threads on the forum (as it is also an archive) and I notice there is no longer any reference to our spring meet this year, which was attended by 25 boats. Other meets in previous years are still there to read, including other meets this year, but not the one in Salhouse in May, which has been removed. I remember that several members posted their stories about the meet, as well as many photos, which serve as a souvenir of a happy and memorable occasion. I hope this is simply a hiccup, after the recent upgrading of the forum software, and that we may have this thread re-instated, so that we can enjoy the memory?

Vaughan
Thanks Grendel, I had already found them on "holiday tales" but the threads about the event on "events and what's on" are missing, whereas those for the other meets are still there
grendel
just had a thought, if its one of the topics that Jonzo started, when he deleted his account all the topics he started disappeared with all his posts, that may be why we cant find it. Vaughan
Yes, I had a feeling that might have been something to do with it. Please let me know if it cannot be found and I for one, will re-post the photos that I took, to remind us of the event. I know you took a lot as well! grendel
I think the best bet would be to repost them here.
Vaughan
Will do so this evening. Hopefully others will as well, so that we can all have a record of a fun event! I rather fear that another thread which I think was called "previous forum meets" has also been lost.

Hockham Admiral
We arrived early Friday morning in order to check that the ranger had done the necessary jobs like posting all the notices to warn other boaters off in the correct place (NOT you two!). I tend to prowl the mooring area most times in order to help peeps moor or to suggest where they might moor. Oh, and take lots of pics which I've assembled in chronological order! The beagles were early happy to welcome anyone! Followed by the Flagbearers!
Hockham Admiral
They soon had the NBN flag on display By mid afternoon it had started to fill up With BA joining later Not to be outdone by Peter's superb model!
Hockham Admiral
John had arrived on Nyx and Charlie was giving helpful advice. John soon had Nyx looking boat-shape! (is that a word?) Uninvited visitors soon pecked up! Followed by the Skipper in a swish looker! Complete with Lucy to help moor
CambridgeCabby
I wonder if Robin and Indepenence will be able to pass through Gt Yarmouth to allow us all to view his wonderful ship

BroadAmbition
Acle bridge would have to go too. Independence has an airdraft of 20ft plus the aerials / domes above that! Then there is the 'Small' matter of a 4ft10" draft and that's not fully loaded / stored either Griff

BroadAmbition
Which will probably preclude all but the Waveney & Yare rivers? The afore mentioned bridges on the Bure sees to that without even considering the draft. But looking on the bright side, Independence does have the capability of using Breydon, GYA, downstream of Haven Bridge, New cut, Waveney up to the first bridge at Beccles, the mighty Yare to the rail bridge at Norwich, Oulton Broad, Mutford Lock, Lake Lothing. The whole of the North sea and beyond of course - Just how much does she want/need? The Jewel in the crown here is that the Rascal still has use of 'B.A' for the whole of the Broads rivers, including above PHB Best of both worlds springs to mind Griff 3
ExSurveyor
Out of interest, how deep is New Cut ?
BroadAmbition
I should know this, as the fish finder onboard 'B.A' tells us the depth wherever we are, it's very accurate too. Of course now at some stage I will have to transit the New Cut at low and high water to find out! Griff
Guest
Don't forget that the depth in the middle of the river becomes irrelevant if you want to moor anywhere and I can think of a lot of places that even on a neap low tide a vessel with a draft that deep is going to be very very close to the bottom if not on it , surlingham broad ( bargate , really ,) at low tide would defiantly not be a good idea . ExSurveyor
On a very low tide I sit on the bottom, on the riverside, average low tide I have about a foot.
