Fishing Week

Just back home from a week on the boat. Spent a lot of time fishing I am no expert but caught plenty of roach, perch and bream on the southern rivers. Most of the roach I caught were covered in black spots to some degree, can anyone tell me what this is ? Thanks

Was there a lot of "duck weed" about where you caught the roach?

No duck weed. Caught around the Brundall area on the Yare and further up around Wittlingham.

Its a parasite and has been present for years.

No sign of black-spot down on the Waveney although we have had it in the past. Personally been having some cracking good rudd fishing lately!

Nothing new. I was catching roach like that 60 years ago.
