Another Scam

latest one seen,  alledgedly from dvla saying not enough money in my account to take direct debit,wording was very suspect;-

"The latest payment for your vehicle tax failed because there is not 
enough money on you debit card. Your vehicle is no longer taxed.
We have generated a new invoice, and we suggest you to use a credit card
instead of a debit, to avoid any other consequences that might appear in case
again won't be enough funds inside."

 had a look at their link looks like a genuine dvla  webpage, isn't , so beware

i always pay as a lump sum for the year so that one wouldnt get me.

Me too.  £0.0 for one car, £30 for the other . Tough, but I manage to find it...

Yes, there's often poor spelling and/or grammar as a first good clue!

I might be wrong but I don't think Direct Debits are taken via debit card which would also make me suspicious even if the wording/grammar didn't.

Your correct  Direct Debits only come out pre arranged via your bank accounts. This one with the DVLA,has been doing the rounds for some time.They did it with Marina. 

If in doubt  contact the organisation  that the scammers are Pretending to be.Use another phone.Some times they will stay on the phone and pretend to be the bank etc.

Or you could  tell them .Thank you I'm a Detective Inspector with the met police. Think they would soon put the phone down.😃
