Wroxham!!!

With hire boats going out from the 4th July, I wonder if the bridge pilots will be operational?

Is it possible with social distancing?

  • unclemike changed the title to Wroxham Bridge Pilot

I hope for your sake they are, but with my boat being hired from one of the few companies that dont require a bridge pilot at wroxham, I also sort of hope not too, as if Marthams get me under Potter Heigham bridge, then  Wroxham wont be a problem  (or weyford), and if the bridge pilot isnt working, then all the more space for me.

Easy the crew go down below, the bridge pilot will just need a mask and gloves

It’s the coming back, when they then leap from your boat to the next waiting one, whilst you stand by to quickly grab the helm...

I am happy to take my chances.

But I was worried that guidelines might prevent it. Hopefully not!

Sorry Bexs, if you are that worried about the pilot, I would seriously give that bit of the river a miss!! Indeed to be really honest, given the fact that Norfolk has been such a hotspot for transmission, and with a bit of luck you should be outside, I should not even give the issue a second thought!!

And I wouldn't go anywhere near the ice cream boat unless you desperately want an ice cream - which you probably will!!

I have spoken to NBD. The bridge pilot is running.

If anybody really wants to know more, speak to the service provider. You can be certain that the pilot service will be as safe as can be humanly possible else it would not be permitted to run.

Thank you! That’s brilliant.

I wasn’t worried regarding our health.

As I said, happy to take our chances!!

I was more worried that H&S and all the red tape might get in the way.
