Chelsea14Ian
Watching the news, very sad to hear the Queen has died. She was the rock for many like myself. Having only known one head of state. She was truly a amazing lady who's sense of duly was out standing. My thoughts go to her family.
Chelsea14Ian
Not only was she well respected in this country, but world wide. She had a great sense of humour. That was seen most recently, when she took the marmalade sandwich out of her handbag. And when we thought she jumped out of a plane at the 2012 Olympics. You were and still are well loved and respected.
YnysMon
A lot of moving tributes flowing in, and well deserved. I heard the news from my son who is currently in California. How the world has shrunk.
Chelsea14Ian
Today Marina and I went to our local Church, to sign the book of condolence.Which in its self was a little moving. The church is quite beautiful, dating back to the 12th century.
addicted
I really believe that with king Charles 3rd at the helm we are in safe hands. I thought his speech in both content and in delivery was faultless. This is man who has been systematically underestimated all his life. Those who do so now do so at their peril. Chelsea14Ian
I also think with the help of his close family he will be a good King. And wish him well.
addicted
I felt very sorry for Liz Truss. Just in the job at a really difficult time and not having the immense experience of the Queen to help guide her, but I think from king Charles she will have all the wise guidance she may need. He has learnt a huge amount while in the wings I am sure. Carole

Chelsea14Ian
Very nice to see the New Prince and Princess of Wales and Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Together walking and taking to the crowd at Windsor.
grendel
although I have never actually met the Queen, i can at least say that I was presented to the King (while he was still Prince Charles) and shaken his hand, an event only slightly marred by being immediately after shaken by the hand (almost literally) by the mayor of London (Boris), it nearly rattled my teeth loose, fortunately I had an equivalence in bulk and managed to retain my composure.
Chelsea14Ian
Sadly I never met the Queen,I was part of a team that cooked for her and most members of the Royal family.Always very long tiring days, but a lifetime of memories .
