Looking at the webcam this morning and the house boat has gone !!

That's good news with the school holidays fast approaching. The yacht station has certainly been looking busier over the last few days.

Good news for those who require stern on moored to the pontoon if disabled.

She has been towed back to her mooring on the Broad. The historic terms and conditions regard the houseboats on Oulton Broad are that they are removed from the Broad during the winter and stored at the Yacht Station. Don't know why though although I'd guess that it was to do with shooting rights during the winter. The houseboats are supposed to be back on their moorings by Easter.

I know that the Yacht Station team look after all the bouys, but do they get the annual tolls for the moorings?

I was informed by a very good source that the houseboat's

mooring was having something done to it as it wasn't secure?

That's why it had been there that long.

Unless someone knows different of course.

Was my understanding as well. Apparently it broke free from its mooring.

I drove past earlier (lovely few days at Potters!) and no sign of the previously sunk boat either.

The sunken boat has gone! The geese are back, bird food sales are on the up.

I too had heard that the h/b's mooring was damaged but surely there was no excuse for taking so long to repair it.

 

John, the council mooring income, sorry, don't know its eventual recipient. 

 

The sunken boat was lifted and then towed through Mutford Lock to Lake Lothing.
