Rincewind
I guess Rolf Harris was the only Aussie not likely to be out by lunchtime!
Chelsea14Ian
The team not only beat the Aussies, they completely out played them, well down lads.turning the clock back I like many thought JP should have been in the team. The selectors got it right. We did well against the Kiwis, but they really turned it on against the Aussies. I thought Clark spoke very well in defeat. What a summer for English cricket. Once again well done lads. Ian
BroadScot
As a Scot YES a SCOT, may I congratulate England in recapturing The Ashes. Well deserved by a young side. Now go and finish the job by entertaining the fans at The Oval. Oh and winning again! Iain.
Chelsea14Ian
It don't get much better winning against the Aussies,or may be beating the Germans at penalties in the semifinals of the world cup, then beating Brazil in the final. Still a great victory. Ian
BroadScot
or may be beating the Germans at penalties in the semifinals of the world cup Now, now Ian, stop dreaming Nae chance! Iain
Chelsea14Ian
Iain we can all dream, many times I have scored the winning goal for Chelsea, only to wake up having kicked the cat off the bed, sorry kitty Ian
BroadScot
England winning these Tests so quickly must be costing the ECB and the test grounds a fortune in lost revenue. Iain
Chelsea14Ian
I think your right, but I think and hope it will bring to the game new fans,me I love test matches, but many people don't want to seat through five days. The last couple of tests perhaps will gain fans to Cricket. BroadScot
I have options Ian, drive to Chester le Street three and a half hour drive. Old Trafford over four hours pending how bad the M6 is. But, my favourite option is to fly down early flight, and sit inside Lord's at a Test match. I have been to Lord's but sadly only at the entrance next to the Lords Taveners! Seen several at Chester le Street, and many at Old Trafford, thanks to my late uncle who was a member there. Durham CCC are to be congratulated...First, Collingwood then Harmisson, now Stokes and Woods...Scott Borthwick next maybe? Not bad for a not so long ago Minor Counties side. Hylander
Old saying - least said soonest mended - but I just cannot help chuckling to myself and thinking - who cares we have one the ashes anyway. A good warm feeling for a change.
BroadScot
One URN now safely locked up....again at Lord's or some safe deposit box For safe keeping till the next series downunder in Australia I think 2017. It sure was a topsy turvy series. Both sides require new faces before the next time. Over to the ECB, and Andrew Strauss etc. Iain.
