Worth a mention (Vulcan's last shows)

Recommended Posts

One of the best places to see these air shows is The Southport Air Show, held every August. Cars can park on the beach, so lots and lots of room for everyone to park, and a nice place to spend a holiday. I would say that wouldn't I, because I used to live in Southport. Watched this years show, with the last visit of the Vulcan.

Ah Geoff, Lord Street and the Marine Lake. Many happy memories having days out there.:)

cheersIain

Just seen on the news the last flight has gone.

Below is from there Facebook page

In approximately 30 minutes, Vulcan XH558 will take-off for her final flight. Due to completing so many hours this season, this will be a short 15 minute flight to capture images for the national and international media. It will also give a superb historical image of her final ever landing.

Vulcan bomber investigated over banned barrel roll.........

msn news........

The acrobatic manoeuvre was captured on film as the Vulcan bomber performed one of its last flights over Lincolnshire

The Civil Aviation Authority is investigating whether Britain's last flying Vulcan bomber performed a banned "barrel roll" manoeuvre in one of its last flights.

The alleged roll, which would have broken conditions on the Cold War nuclear bomber's airworthiness certificate, was captured on camera as it flew over Grantham, Lincs, on October 4.

NOT BAD FOR A BIG OLD GIRL.....

So what are they going to do take away the airworthiness certificate of some thing that no longer has one?

After the withdrawal of support from suppliers including Rolls Royce it can no longer fly so won;t have a certificate anyway.

Peobably prosecute the pilot. If the worst had happened it would have been bigger than the Shoreham disaster.

Still good to see it fly though and a shame it cant continue.
