I did that with a brolly ....ONCE! Twas up the New Cut, but NOT because of the wet stuff, 93F beating down on the cockpit demanded a serious cover plan without putting the roof back up! Copious lager (sorry Howard) was consumed when moored up at Reedham.

Wimp.... using an umbrella.. I've never used an umbrella but have sat up there like that.. wind, rain, snow, (and the odd day of sun).

I have been there done that but on the canals when we needed to meet a daily lock/miles quota on a ring route. On the Broads I would have moored up and enjoyed the sound of the rain on boats roof, maybe a glass in hand.
