  1. My point was "Why such useless numbers?" 500 yards I can equate to but 457m leaves me cold! (Unless, as I did, I get my calculator out and work out just what they mean!). "Beaurocratic Nonsense" comes to mind.................
  2. Some stone! Must be a frogstone???
  3. We came past St Benet's yesterday and saw this sign............... 457m.... whatever distance is that??? The last time I noticed ALL road signs in England were in YARDS... 500 would do! And as we're afloat even 2.5 cables would suffice!
  4. Well, if you make it to the Southern Meet you'll find lots of them to groan to, Bill!
  5. Does it have a built-in RCCB? (or whatever they're called nowadays....)
  6. Well... come wind, rain or (occasionally!) shine... you guys and girls can party! Really heartfelt thanks to Barry and Olive for their sterling efforts to make it a success! Without Barry's marquee ( or "tent" as he insisted on calling it) we wouldn't have had half such a good time! Yesterday morning was bright and sunny; Dan, John and James helped Barry erect his "tent"! An early departer rocked us about somewhat.... Roy and Dianne arrived a bit later... Lori (LoziBare...) turned up and gave us a bit of tongue.......... John looked perplexed..... While Barry was demonstrating the Twist??? to Lorri and Roy.......... Meantime 'The Ladies' were enjoying refreshments on Friday Girl And, finally, Evening Star turned up with TEN onboard....................
  7. Sounds great, Dave! We're now onboard at BB's and heading for the Spring Meet tomorrow morning!
  8. Yes, thanks, that's done the trick, Mike!
  9. What's your air height, Howard? When we had this problem I used to called Yarmouth Control on 01493335520 and they would give me the Vauxhall heights at any time.
  10. Mike, Hi Err, how do I do that, please???
  11. John, Hi Just this one but earlier this morning I used my laptop and it logged on automatically.. however I did use I/E rather than the usual Firefox.
  12. Must be hard work keeping her down to 6mph!!!
  13. John, Hi I've a similar problem in that my laptop won't remember my name but when I type in "Hockham Admiral" it immediately comes up with the password.....
  14. Absolutely. they are THE people to talk/listen to... NOT the cheapest but THE BEST! We have used them for nigh on 25 years and ALWAYS been more than satisfied... ....we don't have shares, either!
  15. "Friday Girl" and that's me on her on my avatar to the right.
  16. Welcome aboard from us! What's the name of your boat? We moor at the WRC!
  17. I would be most surprised if the hire-yards were selling these types of fuel because of the possible effects on their own engines... any comments, Clive?
  18. "Does your boat have a shore power connection?" is probably too obvious a question...
  19. Welcome aboard from us, Graham. Hope you have a great time!
  20. You are quite correct....... But even with the increase in power you'll still need a quality aerial to receive pics all over the Broads. Digital will either work or not... Analogue you might see with "snow" in the background but not so with digital. So buy a proper digital aerial! Those cheap things you see will NOT work in poor signal areas. I recommend the log periodic yagis, one of which is specifically designed for Tacolneston's frequency.
  21. We start our list on an A5 reporters notebook pad in January............ About now we bring it down to something sensible, as suggested, like..... beer, wine, gin and food...
