  1. Peferably attached to a mud-weight, Neil??? You do tell it like it is, don't you? CU soon!
  2. Bill, Hi We've just decide we'll be arriving on Thursday too; so it will be good to meet up. But we're only coming from Geldeston............ so we might get there a bit before you! PS it's daylight by 4am and the slack water time at GH will be 06.23 (it's LW+1.30, not +1.00); so plenty of time from Acle?
  3. And there was I talking to Allan David (quay ranger) just last Wenesday and he told me that they'd had only one case last year and none this............. Only goes to re-emphasise that we only moor on Riverside Sun-Wed nights....
  4. Just taken this pic at the WRC. what is she?
  5. Whenever we've cruised past there, Howard, we've often wanted to call in but they're always full!
  6. Just where do you find these pics, Dan???
  7. Reedham Ferry was deserted: And so we carried on to moor outside the Lord Nelson and enjoy a couple of pints of Little Sharpie at lunchtime! Finally back to Friday Girl's new home... after five weeks.....
  8. It got closer..... And slowed down to displacement speed as it passed by,,, but if I hadn't turned across its wake anything loose would have gone over! (It did have a "Speed limit exempt" sign onboard!) The Beauchamp Arms wasn't too busy... But there were a few boats tied up at Cantley
  9. We woke up yesterday morning to beautiful Broads views: We set off at 8.30 for Reedham and had the river pretty much to ourselves: Until, in the distance something fast approached! TBC........
  10. Neil, Hi That's why I wasn't too bothered... we'd signed up with Boulters for exactly that... As I said: "OMG, something's round the prop", I calmly said... (remembering that we'd taken out not only the breakdown service but also the diver option, with Boulters last week! :)
  11. Wow, Gav! I just hope the citizens of Gt Yarmouth don't read this thread!
  12. It will also depend on whether you've got a long or short shaft outboard. And, as Ian says, you really need to set it up on the tender to check the parameters he refers to. I can see how the straps will hold the bracet onto the boat and you'll need to cut off the bottom bit so that it's not below the boat bottom, say 10ins. The bit above will be dependent on your shaft length; so I'd cut the bottom first and then offer the mounting up to the tender... perhaps even strap it on. Then you can see where to cut the top section off.
  13. It finally happened................ Leaving Norwich this morning we saw the Thorpe Railway Bridge at 8+ft............ I'd already intended to take us down the old river to show Mary-Jane some potential moorings............ (never plan ahead?)...... and so I turned under the bridge.... The bottom was quite clear but suddenly the engine revs reduced coupled with that awful vibration.............. "OMG, something's round the prop", I calmly said... (remembering that we'd taken out not only the breakdown service but also the diver option, with Boulters last week! "I think we can make the moorings", I told Mary-Jane, throttling back to idle; this reduced the vibration but stopped the forward progress.. so what to do? Probably NOT in the manual of "things to do" but I put her into reverse and gave a quick burst of power... initially sluggish but then, quite quickly, free. Mary-Jane had walked to to the transom and called that a white plastic bag had surfaced astern and was away from us... "Half speed ahead and all's well" were our happy sentiments.......... That called for a glass of celebration wine (at 11.00) Now at the ferry House (hic) and mightily relieved!
  14. Absolutely SFA........ but at least I called them to ask why it's now closed again.......... only trying to get some useful information for others
  15. Two red flags at Trowse over the last two days; I called them on 12 but no answer.......
  16. Gav, Hi. Yes i saw this one. Will be interested to hear Rod's comments soon!
  17. Roy and Diane, Good Evening. Off topic (as usual!) but the Wayford Bridge is about to get a good shaking up...... We were talking with Marco a few weeks ago and when he's finished with the Lavenham Angel he intends to start on the Bridge. He is going to (quote) "Turn it into the best Fish Pub in Norfolk" We await the outcome.................
  18. Lori, if my liver ain't pickled by now it never will be...
