  2. Hi Folks, We get some weird and wonderful names for Christmas Ales etc. However, IYHO which do you think are best for drinking this year? I have sampled Thwaites "Yule love it!" a 4% ABV and it disappeared very quickly! Iain

  7. DPD I have always found excellent and deliver every time in the designated time slot. My Hermes, I am like Strowies agent, he has been with them for several years and always delivers direct, or where we have asked a parcel to be left. He even knows to wait while I get my old bones to the door! Cannot fault them. Iain.

  11. Way back in March 2006 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/4845260.stm it all started up here. So it will soon be the 10th anniversary of cleaner air in all eating places. I say cleaner not clean, as those indoor grill places sure do SMOKE ! Iain.

  13. Like them or not..Wetherspoons are still opening new pubs all over the country. So smoking has not closed all the pubs down. Just a thought. Iain

  15. Hi Paul, There was a poll up here on the choice of names, and the Queensferry Crossing came out tops. Very appropriate really, as it used to be a ferry between North and South Queensferry. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-23047293 I hope to be there this time next year when it opens.   19. Good point , but, as the thread began in a "pub" thread, it has stayed there. I was a heavy smoker when younger, but stopped in March 1993. I cannot speak for all, but anything that is hopefully improving the quality of air we breath,then I am all for it! My mates two girls make him stand outside their homes, when he has a puff on his pipe. Its all about choice IMHO. Many Wetherspoon pubs have a outside smoking area. Iain.
