  1. My brother in law has met them all at some time or other when he was PRO for the Scottish Office. He was standing next to her when she pressed the button to let the oil flow into the UK. He even has the official signed B&W photograph of ER ll and Prince Philip. I am sure over the past 60 years or so, many of the folks in the UK will have met members of the Royal Family. I am sure she to me in Ayr in 1953/54 when touring the country after her Coronation! Iain.
  2. Hi Alan, Its "The Ship" the other pub in Reedham. I personally for years climbed the hill to the "Top House" pub. The real ales were always in good condition. and a weird walk back down in total darkness, bar the torch light. Iain.
  3. Very sad news IMHO Iain
  4. Considering the Chet is now twice its width in places compared to days passed, its a nice pootle trip. Reedham needs the Lord Nelson back up and running, but it doesn't look like it will be anytime soon. Also the village store up the hill, reopening, would be good also. Great to see your out doing your "sea trials" Alan. Unless I am very much mistaken and there are very high tides at Reedham Swing Bridge, you should always get through without it being required to open for you. Sommerlayton Bridge is a different kettle of fish, care always required there. Iain.
  5. Five dry at Leeds well we can but hope! Tickets are well priced for the Test, a lot cheaper than have paid before. This is a ground where the test wickets have changed over the years. Use to be a seamers paradise. Winning the toss will be very important IMO. Iain.

  10. Grace, Do you have a death wish? Alex will be like me, being a Scot. Placid, gentle easy going and best of all wont let his good lady buy shoes on a whim. That makes him very sensible too. Now go back into your stern cabin, there are TEN rag n sticks heading towards you! Iain.
  11. The safety car keeps changing races. Is it fair? No. But has to be used. Iain.
  12. Hopefully NOT your bilges JA!!! Iain.
  13. Hi Ian. Footy mentioned elsewhere, but, the cricket for anyone there today had a bargain ticket/seat. I have followed young Stokes since his days at Cockermouth CC in Cumbria. Funny thing is, he is a Kiwi. I first saw him on a one day match for Durham, if he keeps the head, he could make life interesting against the Aussies in the Ashes Series. Iain
  14. Before Jenny Morgan (Peter) starts his full gymnastic display of cartwheel tricks, may I be the first to congratulate him and his beloved "Canaries" on their return to the Premier League! To Boro fans better luck next season. Iain

  23. Thank you Simon, these modern cameras do help in taking such pics. Sadly, I never took anything like the footage I intended to take. Just means I will have to come down again and do better! The leg is healing up very very slowly, I drove the car for the first time in a week this morning, just in town. Iain.
