Drambuie is a liquer not a pure Malt,a bit like Glayva, both have one major downfall, they are VERY moreish! When we were on the Broads, we did bring some local tap water in a bottle to make ice, purely for the Glenmorangie. Well with the prospects of an "Admiral !" coming aboard,things had to be spot on. One or two pieces of ice does bring out the flavour of Malt, but not essential. Having done many whisky trails, I found it fascinating how just a few miles apart the flavour could be so different, this it largely due to the filtration of the water through the peats or lack of them. I personally do not like the Islay Malts like Talisker etc , to me they remind me of iodine! Any Speyside Malt should have a slight sweetness to the tip of your tongue as an after burn. Right then, i've typed about it, now go find a nice one and enjoy it to the full! Iain

Hi Mark, I had the pleasure of meeting one of the chief engineers for Concord, his brother happened to be our golf club captain at the time and we played a few rounds with the whole crew, pilots and all. The cockpit was so small, no wonder it was so fast to get them over the pond PDQ! Iain.

I miss Concord doing her pilot training at Prestwick Airport. Noisy as it was, it was still so graceful to see in the sky. The Harrier was always a great piece of entertainment at any Air Show. Iain

Hi Alan, Last Wednesday, I arrived at the yellow post 50 mins after SW and there was still an underpull but it was ok the bridge height was showing 9ft 3" Pootled up at 4.7mph on the GPS. Hope that helps. Iain.

I am using the latest FREE Avg 2015. I get Rapport also free with my online banking. I am on Win 8.1 and had a large update on Monday evening. It seems to settle down after 24 hours on the lappy. One programme I do pay for on a yearly upgrade is System Mechanic (Bought when I was with AOL) and it certainly keeps my lappy up to full speed. Iain
