  6. Didn,t take the boat out this weekend so got some jobs done, resealed the front escape hatch, and more importantly found the cause of a serious vibration!! Spot whats wrong!! Off to the prop doctor!
  7. Hi, pPropex gas heaters are room sealed so don,t produce condensation as an old type flueless appliance does, I have both on the boat, but the eberspacher knockes the socks off the propex, ebo,s suffered from using the old red diesel which had a high sulpher content, It now burns a lot cleaner.so sooting is not so much of a problem, A decoke kit isn,t expensive and the units are simple to work on,
  8. Back in the day, when i was an apprentice at RAF wittering, we had a "PAN" which was solely for the use of these planes, during nato exercises,so every now and then we had a visit from 2 or 3 of them, always thought they looked like they were going to drop out of the sky due to thier large size and slow low level flight capabilties, drive past the night watchmen at Raf Waddington 3 times a week ,brings back memories
  9. It,s not that unusual .......http://www.boatinthebuff.com/ Keep your legs together!!

  11. Sunday morning, we woke to a reasonable morning which soon got quiet hot, but cloudy, been Sunday it was time to make the journey back our berth, because it was so warm we took the front canopy off, and proceeded out of the straithe and down the Yare, We decided to pass some time we would go to Loddon for a stop and to leave Quo there and take Jeff back to st olives with us, the sky was rather dark as we approached the basin , and there was only one mooring spot which quo went in, it then started to rain!!, we quickly headed to the first available mooring......and tryed to get the canopy up ,but by this time there was a monsoon falling, needless to say we got a right soaking!!, we waited it out outside the old boat yard where the red and cream old cruisers are hauled out, until it went off. we then went back to the basin and picked jeff up, and proceeded up the chet, it then started to rain again and it was so heavy 2 hire cruisers had stopped on the chet,,, you had a hard job to see, we thought it was improving ...until we got to Reedham, it then threw it down so much so, it was blowing under the windscreen canopy....everything was soaked but we went though the bridge at 1.5 mph and waited it out best we could, it eventually cleared but then the windscreen kept fogging up ....talk about a nice relaxing sunday ,,,,not. All was normal coming up the Waveny, until we were about 50 yards from st olaves public mooring...then we came across what seems to be such a regular scene on our trips......it wouldn,t be the same without one!! Big Tow was attending to this................ That,s the end of this installment thankyou for your kind comments. ps. i am not going to comment on my one long fender,or the exploding cooker top(it was last year anyway) doh...i just did,

  15. On the way up to Rockland ,moored at the beauchamp A rms , we came across this boat, i think it,s a steam tug,as has a towing hook on the rear deck.......Quo nearly painted it lol
  16. After a night at Langly, we wanted to spend Saturday night in a pub as we had no food to cook on the boats, so we decided on Rockland, and the new in, the weather was cloudy but warm ,...........and very still at times....

  18. After our little trip down and up the chet we made good time , and when we reached Langley dyke we were lucky that there was only one boat on the moorings, so we got comfy and proceeded to cool down we a good shower, and a cold beer....or two!! we ate a cold meal on Que Vadis, After dark que,s boat got attacked by midges, they were everywhere, one top tip we found by accident really was that midges(these are the large blood sucking one,s) are attracted to blue light, so as Bobs boat was covered, my boat didn,t have one in, but the blue transom light was nearly obsured by them, At about 330 am i was woken by large bangs ,and flashes, yes the storm had arrived, it was like a firework display and heavy rain, the rain cleared by morning....pictures to follow,,,,
  19. We had a good run up the Yare to Reedham with the last of the flood, when we arrived at Reedham the bridge was open...we knew this because there was a flashing sign which told us this ,the next word on the sign is open!! ...... Safely through we headed for our intended overnight stop of lodden , when we got there all the morning were taken up with a cruising club get to gether , so plan b was delployed, carry on to Langley dyke and spend the night there, Bob is below the radar at the moment ,still out on boat so will pause here, he has some more photo.s
  20. Well ,what a weekend!, we left the mariner at about 4pm friday ,it was very hot and sticky, good boating weather though, now there,s been a lot of banter on hear about nude cruising.........well this is the nearest thing ......... are you ready??....Gracie!!
