  1. Forgot to add the fan is only required if your charging at a rate of 150amps@13.8 volts
  2. You can have your batteries in the engine bay in a battery box, or strapped down , the only thing the bss is consirned with is that the terminals are insulated or covered, there,s no gases produced by a sealed for life battery unless they vent under extreme circumstances, they are then useless anyway, that is for pleassure boats mybe the test is more strick on hire boats ect. Gas locker http://www.force4.co.uk/339/Force-4-Gas-Bottle-Locker.html
  3. Why? does he want to borrow a sause pan??
  4. Dampness occours when warm air cools, shrinking it.......like a water laden sponge being squashed ,therefore the only way to combat damp is either warm it ie stop it cooling, or take the moisture out of cooled air with a de humidifier, matresses get damp...because of all that hot humid moisture riden air around your body being in contact with a relativly cold base, putting slats in wiil lesson the surface area and help with ventilation which helps disperse the moisture, golden rule of keeping dampness away , heat and vent!!, or cool below dewpoint with dehumidiefier and drop the water out
  5. Thier holding me up at work now!! lol A140 today......for 17 miles
  6. No problems sue, the burner unit is like a diesel one , it,s roomsealed, which means the air for burning is draw from outside, and exhusts outside, the room is heated by a heatexchanger in the unit
  7. got diesel and gas heating!!!
  8. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Enfield-stern-drive-for-boat-enfield/191066117707?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222006%26algo%3DSIC.FITP%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107083358%26meid%3D4874060022183596021%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D20140107083358%26rk%3D0%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D181080234608 this shows the set up, the conection between the coupling and flywheel looks like a stub axle whech bolts onto the wheel
  9. Good old enfields!! ,i installed an enfield z drive and mated it to a ford transit engine, only mod require was the flywheel drilled to take the coupling, i would suggest you have this done by someone with a lathe ect to get it bang on, you can go direct to the factory.......http://www.bobknowles.demon.co.uk/prod01.htm as long as the old bustard is still there!! (bob knowles that is)
  10. If you look at the picture of my engine there,s a weed filter on the right, it has 12mm thick glass top, you can unblock it in 10mins, as i have done when out on the river....Loddon mud struck that day!!, would be a tad over the top for your 30hp, but i would go for a bronze option....eventually plastic goes opaque no matter who,s name,s on the label aimho of coarse.
  11. Ever tried putting a double duvet cover on in a sports cruiser??..........................neither have I !!!, Sue,s department
  12. http://pintsandpubs.wordpress.com/2012/06/11/castle-inn-wroxham/ only what it looked like as housing?
  13. Falcon 27 mate ,the reason your engine looks tiny is because your boat can have two v8,s,v6 .s(can,t remember which) fitted fitted as an option!!
  14. Hi, enjoying this thread, following on from what,s been said about planning hulls, my boat has 2 ,150hp diesels and to get her on the plane you really have to give it some stick!! One of the problems with the additional weight of diesel over petrols. These are in a 27ft boat http://www.csgnetwork.com/marinepropcalc.html For your prop, get an idea from this??
  15. John,,,, the only person who gets free beer is quo, he would be delighted to put one on his hotel bill.......one snag, he in holland!!
  16. At first looking at the 3rd picture i thought ba were trying to heat the place up !! , my best guess is lpg driven airater pumps??
  17. If you see me out and about i,ll definatly let you buy me a drink!! (puts on tin hat and ducks!!)
  18. I would say that the current licence will cove rthis year, that,s if it had one?, after all there paid in advance , check with Clive or the yard you bought it from, just need to inform ba of change of ownership and class of licence from hire to private?
  19. I agree monday just didn,t work for me personaly,
  20. Hellow and welcome, as has been said i run a Falcon 27 at the moment, twin mercruiser diesels, it,s very good on fuel and if your feeling the pinch you can always turn one off on long cruises on the broads(port on mine as starboard does the power steering),turning the other on for mooring. Food for thought, long way off but how about this? http://www.boatshed.com/falcon_27-boat-163512.html , The only reservation i would have with the single would be mooring, more difficult as Facon hulls are sports cruisers, and as such get blown about in the wind at slow speeds. The boat your looking at is not a pure Falcon boat but was built using the old hull mould ,but different moulds for the interier(better use of space imho). For the broads use only go for the single, if you buy a twin , you have the ability to poke your nose out of the piers at gt yarmouth
  21. Wednesday , good for me..........i can,t afford to go to the pub on school days!!!
