  1. Blog update!! Well what a weekend ,talk about windy! , this weekend we decided to try the newly opened waveny inn at wrc, we had a good trip down with Somerlayton bridge opening on demand and everything normal, got moored up at wrc after been blown around the basin a few times...lol. We had a rest and a wash and then proceeded to the pub, well what a transformation!! it,s now a very modern place indeed, the pricing was not over the top and the food was hot and tasty.....see pub guide!! other tread. here,s some pics of the place, sorry someone forgot the big camara! doh After a very good nights sleep.......we woke up and everything didn,t seem quite right!! the boat was nose down?? it had been windy during the night which had pinned the boat to the key heading....................then the tide went out.....oh dear We got it off with a splash, only a bent rubbing strake . Just goes to show it can happen to anyone......that,s my excuse anyway!!

  11. Hellow everyone.......the blogs back!! just had our first weekend out on the boat in 2014!, just shows how the wind affected our boating habits. Any way here we go then, saturday , we spent most of the day getting the boats ready and waiting for the tide.....trouble was the tide didn,t happen!! we still made it out of our mariner but both boats churned up the mud and promptly blocked all four weed filters up, so it was throw the anchor out and clean them out! yuk. After we got going we came on this poor holiday maker who had also been caught out by the "non tide" we did stop and made sure he was ok......he wanted Bob to try to tow him off ,but he was high and dry so no chance.More soon it,s the quiz in a moment!!

  18. Dont think it would be advisable to wild moor in most of the southern broads ,with the exception of possibly the far reaches of the navigation ,upper yare and beyond Beccles, simply there is too much tide , you will end up aground!! with a old stake though the bottom of your boat! ,there are alot of out of the way moorings with good key headings which don,t get busy.
  19. until

  21. Hi, Alan, i am afraid i don,t like the look of that drive , i think you,ll have to strip the bearing s out of it and replace them,if it,s got that much corrosion the races will be pitted?, and that blow lamp? ok if your dismantling it but burning causes carbon deposits, not what you need in a gearbox.
