  1. It is odd how different folk react, both my wife and me had Pfizer for all 3 jabs. I had absolutely no side affects my wife did, but only after her first jab. But like you say far better then the potential alternative.
  2. Of course you are 100% correct griff, going back to the 70/80 we would regularly pass under the bridge whilst on our holidays. I pose three questions, what purpose does the bridge serve, that the bypass bridge couldn't? No local businesses would suffer if the old bridge was to be removed infact it would only be of huge benefit to businesses based above the bridge, how many ppl actually visit potter for the bridge ?? I would argue most are drawn to potter by lathams and not the bridge. With the bridge gone would it spoil the enjoyment of the many visitors who sit outside HW watching the river activities ??? again I'd argue not. infact with it gone the river would be a busy place with far more to watch and enjoy. Lastly I believe with the bridge gone in would enhance the holiday experience for those that would want to visit Hickling etc. Personally I see the bridge as an obstruction if I being perfectly Frank, long gone are the days of getting excited about getting through the bridge, even HW and Martham ferry, don't want you taking there picnic boat under the bridge. Like has already been mentioned lots of today hire boat wouldn't get under the bypass bridge but many would, its only a matter of time before the issues of removing the bridge become a reality. Just my personal take on things.
  3. Shame your cutting your trip short David, hope you enjoyed your time afloat. I'd love to cruise the broads in off season, I often find myself rushed when up north. A bit like driving round the M25
  4. Up until last weekend they had a good 20 boats out a week for the first two weeks in November. Pretty good for this late in the year.
  5. Yes I noticed that, be interesting to see if anyone hires her that late into the year. That said HW have had a fair few boats out over the last few weeks bridgecraft have also had boats out. To be fair our winter months are nowhere near as harsh as they use to be generally speaking and if you already have staff working on the yard and conditions are fair, why not send the boats out. I'm sure the seasonal cleaners would be glad of extra income and any extra income for the yard has to be a bonus. Another 10 years time and winter cruising could become popular what with our climate getting ever warmer.
  6. Had a look at regal and personally I like it. I'm a fan of the dual steer design. I thought it looked a bit pricey but it's booking up quite well.
  7. There's a little bit more grey to be added as well 😉
  8. A little birdy at Hw told me paul was trying to put a team together to carry on what Clive had started. Maybe his foud them.
  9. Richardsons must still have a set of the new sedan mould sitting at Stalham awaiting fit out.
  10. That's one he'll of a big boat for 4 ppl. At 3.5 k a week in August to hire that might struggle to let if overseas travel is in full flow next season. Absolutely no doubt it will be fitted out to a very high standard. Personally I think the tariffs are a bit on the optimistic side..
  11. Thank god us poor old army boys were issued with crayons, all the same colour. Stopped all the fighting in the playground....🙃😅🙃
  12. Barnes have posted pictures of there new 46ft dual steer mould. I'm not sure what this design is called now. But I'm sure it will be packaged full of the latest tech. We've also seen NBD new boat for 22 and silverlines, just waiting to see clives boat now. Some cracking new offerings to be had there. 3 new big dual steers and clives 46ft center cockpit. Woods I believe will be launching a couple more of there fantastic little compact cruisers. Good start for us who like to hire the latest offerings.
  13. It can be the same with the same day delivery option for prime members.
  14. Weather you like it or not, high St shopping is dead in the water and I'd imagine there will be no high St within the next 10 years. The pandemic has only accelerated its demise. My company has grown its online shopping turnover from nothing at the start of covid to just over 70 million pounds this year. They now expect this to reach 130 million next year as they expand it. Tesco are and have been building what they call dark stores. Picking facilities for online shopping and the guys that have taken over at asda want to close all there stores in favour of an all online home delivery set up. The success of Amazon worldwide is no doubt the driving force.
  15. My sister uses them and she's not a prime member, she has to pay some ridiculous delivery charges to be fair. I've set her up on my account as an alternative delivery address, it's worked fine so far.
  16. I believe my team West ham are on over the Christmas period as well David. They've been dipping there feet into the premier league the last couple of years. If I was sky I'd be quite worried, amazon's pockets are a lot deeper then sky's. Personally sky's days are numbered as they have got greedy I've cancelled my sky's sports package.
  17. Absolutely love amazon, have been a prime member for about 4 years now. Never had any problems that wasn't resolved quickly and satisfactory. We both work long hours and weekends so they are a God send at times. I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for, there deliveries are always on time stuff isn't all damaged etc. I could probably save a few pounds shopping around but often don't have time. Let's face it amazon aren't the only company taking advantage of loopholes, are they...
  18. Use to pass by there all the time. Another waterway I'd like to try...
  19. I forgot you worked there Neil, they really do have a cracking fleet now. The prices are looking quite favorable compared to the broads at the moment...
  20. I follow a few hire yards on FB not all on the broads. it's good to see all the posts from the yards showing us what there upto over the winter months, upgrades repairs etc. An interesting post last weekend from bridgecraft, showing us them lifting Tay bridge out, on the face of it she didn't look to bad a few scraps and scuffs. Well apparently not a sizeable lump of the toenail ( I think that's the right term ) needed cutting out and repairing. To me the sheds these guys work in all winter look cold and damp places, I bet they dread winter. Saying that I'm aware of two yards neither on the broads that do the winter maintenance on there car parks. Kris Cruisers and bridge boats at Ely. Sod doing that in the freezing cold. Re painting a boat out in the open must cause a few difficulties.
  21. Amazon do indeed have there own branded credit card, it's a master card. Funnily enough we bank with Natwest and received a letter last week informing us our visa debit cards are being replaced with master cards one in the new year.
  22. I have a friend who works and lives in corralejo on fuerteventura. He posted a video on FB last Saturday and the town was heaving. I hadn't heard about any concerns just at the moment. I still have a booking with tui for lanzarote originally made back in 2019, seems bizarre we still haven't had the trip.
  23. I think San Pedro was one of the boats from the graveyard. Refitted around the same time a lot of the old Thames were, the concertos etc etc. Pretty good job they done on all of them aswell.
  24. I noticed in one photo you posted Vaughan, the gunboat is moored outside the boat sheds. It appears to be having loads of work done to its superstructure. Can I ask how she was delivered to Thorpe. The roads back then must of been quite narrow.
  25. Europe were a bit behind the UK in opening up but infection rates are climbing all over. The canarie islands have and are incredibly busy with tourists from all over Europe. I wonder how long it will be before there are problems out there. I kind of agree with Mouldy on the herd immunity thing, and Boris I believe alluded to it in one of his speeches by saying we've got to get on with it and learn to live with covid...
