Bit of a thread drift here, but ... many years ago I was the manager of a company selling touring caravans. I sold a first timer a new caravan and discussed what extras he should buy. Top of the list was a fire extiguisher. He asked "what size" and I replied depends on the size of fire your gonna have. He bought a large one. A couple of years later he came into the branch and said he had sold the caravan and moved into a flat. He had kept the fire extiguisher and recently had a fire in his kitchen and used that same extinguisher to put the fire out and had come to thank me.....just goes to show!

You don't think he's been arrested for unpaid mooring fees do you?

When I was a lad and Herne Bay pier was in one piece she used to pick up from the end of the pier then to Southend and eventually somewhere up the Thames. The windows in the bar were partly under water which was quite fun after a few pints!

That's what I thought. Been there by car but not walked from the moorings. Wherever - Its only 6 minutes to opening time. Must get to the pub!

Anyone looking for a day boat on the Broads? On e bay no. 325991793257 there is a Seamaster 20feet day boat complete with small inboard diesel engine. Looks cheap to me with a buy it now price. Definately worth a look if you are interested in buying one. I had a good look but according to shmbo I am not interested! Just to add. I have NO connection with the seller.

The wife had cover with that 'green' company. She only called them out once when she had a puncture on her XC90 and could'nt release the spare. When they tried to renew it it had gone up considerably. When asked why thet said "you called us out last year" - policy not renewed. Now have AA for all vehicles with mechanical cover

I got rid of the last boat some years ago but have kept the alcohol problem!

Are there not quieter pumps on the market which you could maybe replace yours with if the noise eventually gets on your nerves? Otherwise great to hear its all OK

You probably hav'nt just made his day. Maybe stuck on a boat in this weather with possibly no heating and maybe skint to boot. Poor bugger.
