  1. Have a great time. Best wishes.
  2. When we started using it, a lot actually, as our mooring was Beccles. Alan was the harbourmaster and lived on the Dutch boat and the bar was run by a family from Liverpool. We had some brilliant nights there!
  3. I could be wrong but I think hirers in those days were more caring?
  4. Great 'photos. Can you share any others of her being built. Any idea what she would have cost to build in those days? Thanks
  5. Me and two mates hired a houseboat there - many years ago. Thought we were the 'bees knees!
  6. Maybe too greedy in the first place?
  7. Beat me to it. My thoughts exactly.
  8. Maybe an intense hand over because you are blond and female? Only joking, honest
  9. It was about 6 years ago! Bought a replacement at the chandlers in Oulton Broad the same day.. Sold the boat about 4 years ago unfortunately. Regards Alan
  10. That fender looks like the one I lost near Oulton Broad.
  11. Hi. Cannot really advise on make/type there is so much to choose from. We had a rib and outboard which we hung from davits on our Seamaster 30. My only advice - be careful with the weight. Best of luck
  12. Just out of interest, have you paid to stay there?
  13. For the first time in about 10 days the sun is out here in Hawkinge. We still have the stiff breeze but at least its a warm one!
  14. In Hawkinge, Kent we have had a strong cold wind for 7-8 days - and I thought the summer was here!
  15. Thanks for the boat details - I just can't help being nosey! Nice - but not my choice.
  16. I won't be taking the wife then - it would be more than £36 - just go on my own!
  17. I have been with talktalk for years and cannot fault them. They cannot be held responsible for scammers.
  18. Smoggy. This was a foreign voice and like you I normally have the same reaction as you! However he mentioned talk talk before I had the chance and I got taken in. The funny thing was that when I got hold of t/t to make sure it was a con all the people I spoke to sounded just the same.
  19. Once they had my details I don't think it would have been just £3 they took unfortunately
  20. BEWARE. I had a landline call this morning, supposedly from talktalk. Very convincing stating that my speed was slow and they needed to send me a new router - free of charge, which kept my interest. I was logged into their site which was very official with talktalk logos etc. It showed my current internet speed and what the new speed would be. He said the router would be delivered by Royal Mail and asked what actual time I would like delivery. This made me slightly wary as I did not think Royal Mail delivered to an actual time slot. He then said that whilst the router was free, I would have to pay £3 for the postage and asked for my card number. Alarm bells sounded and I rung off. He made 9 attempts to 'phone me back which I ignored. He kept messaging me on the computer which I then turned off. I spoke to talktalk and yes, it was a con. Saved just in time, but be careful, he was so very convincing.
  21. Thanks. Quite close to where she was before then?
  22. Can you tell us where it is please? Thanks
  23. The dogs beard is tidier? Have a great time all of yer!
  24. I don't know why you let it get like that in the first place. Only joking. Looks amazing.
  25. To be honest. If they all obey the rules of the river there is no problem - but will that actually happen - I hope so.
