  1. Horning is a place everyone want's to stop at . If you are arriving by car or coach, then you have the car park, just as you drive down from the main road from Wroxham, but if you are arriving by boat then that is when the problem start . The Swan and The Ferry Inn have spaces for day boats only during the day, so hire craft can not moor at those mooring until after 17:00. The New Inn has the dyke for day boats during day time and hire craft moor on the front. For the evening it all changes . If you want to moor at one of the pub, then you either pay to moor there (you may get your money back if you eat) or you are asked to book a table for dinner. Horning NEEDS more basic mornings, but where could it be built? Regards Marina
  2. What Ian was saying. The so called Tapas bar was rubbish. Food, service and the so called owner could not run a restaurant. As for the moorings, give me Stracey over Acle any day . Regards Marina
  3. I must say we love mooring at Stracey and yes there is no where to eat, so we would ensure we have food to eat on the boat. As for paying to moor there is ok with us, is it still £3 over night? One thing with the moorings at Stracey, you will always found a space to moor there . If you moor up at Acle north side of the river bank, then if I am correct, you pay for the moorings in the Bridge Shop. Best wishes go out to the old owner of Stracey and to the new lady / owner of Stracey. We will check Stracey out in September . Regards Marina
  4. When we go up next, the weekend of Friday 3rd June I will take some photos. Regards Marina
  5. Hi Iain, thanks for the link, all sorted. Regards Marina
  6. Since we have had Sweet Kingfisher the carpet's in the front and rear cabin, also the vinyl in the rear cabin bath / shower room were all crap. I keep saying I wanted new, but where would you get remnant to fit what I / we needed ? During the winter month's we were in Stalham and we came across a carpet shop on the high street. The owners of the shop looked at my measurement and we ended up with 2 carpet remnant and 1 vinyl remnant, at a price of under £50. Last week the owner fitted them all and looking at them over the weekend they look greatttttt. I could never have fitted them like Geoff had . The carpet shop is called: Rugz&Matz, High Street, Stalham. Highly recommend this shop and Geoff. Also, last week we had the boat valets (on the out side), what a great job done and this was done by Pete 07778 635336. Sweet Kingfisher is shinning clean , but for how long with Ian and the mud anchor . Regards Marina

  10. Three weeks ago, we pasted Alpha yard going out and then back to our base and it was a sad sight to see Alpha Craft yard of NO life. The boats have weeds growing on them and the boats have not had repairs done to the boats. I feel sorry for Paul and all the staff who worked there. Ian and I had become close to Paul, because our boat having work done at Alpha Craft yard. We had our fingers crossed for Paul and the guys last season and with the news of this season is really sad . If Paul or anyone from Alpha Craft see this post, can I say " We are sorry to see Alpha Craft go" . Regards Marina

Another one of the family with a cruiser is JawsOrca (Alan). This season is on the way up for 2016 season . We got our girl up and going 2 weeks ago and had a nice weekend on her. 2 weeks time we will be out on south river from Friday 29th April. Friday night moorings have been booked at Oulton Broad, but unsure after that of where we will be. We will keep a look out for anyone from .NET . Today, Ian and I spend time with our other child Nic (our daughter), but not boating. Nic's expensive hobby is Western Horse Riding and her horse is called Whiz . I have attached a video of her riding in a competition today. How's this Grace like old times ? Regards Marina IMG_0180.MOV

  15. Hi ScrumpyCheddar and to the .NET. Regards Marina
  16. Hi, as Ian said we had a good trip to the Boat Show today. DLR is the best way to get there. We had a nice chat with the guys from Richardson , but if you are out on the Broads they told us if you require fuel then Moonfleet is open all year. We then went and had a chat with James from Shetland Boats (this is where we brought our first boat, a 4+2 called Little Kingfisher). The RYA hospitality hall is a great place for a rest or lunch and somewhere to leave your coat . I still think the boat show is not as good as it was a couple of years ago, but of course it does depend on what you are looking for . Regards Marina
  17. Hi, we are just down from the old Swancraft moorings at Cove Marina, but we had been at the old Eastwoods Marina for many, which is today NBS and we have / had never any problems with fixed pontoon at Brundall . Kind regards Marina
  18. Hello and welcome Robin . From me and Sweet Kingfisher. Regards Marina

  21. Hi All, well I got my email regarding the London Boat Show, so I have ordered and paid for Ian and my ticket. Has anyone heard on the grape vine what the 2016 show going to be like, please? We have been going to the London Boat Show for the pass 7 years and over the last couple of years it did go down hill. This year was a little better and that was because a lot of bad field back, after last years show (2014). Regards Marina
  22. Hello John, Sorry we couldn't meet, but as we all know mobiles, signals and the Norfolk Broads. Yes I must a mite the food at Surlingham Ferry is fresh and good. We will be winterising at the end of November. Regards Marina
  23. We have just had our last proper weekend on Sweet Kingfisher, but someone (Ian) forgot the over night bag, so we had no tops, underwear and no electric tooth brush. We were not a where, that we had forgot the bag until we were taking other bags out of the car to take onto the boat and that was when Ian noticed no overnight bag . Traffic was madness driving up on Friday morning. We stopped at Morrison in Norwich for a little bit of shopping and that was also madness. From Norwich a short drive along to Brundall and to Sweet Kingfisher and that is when we noticed we had forgot the bag. We had a packed car, with bedding and other bags plus we had the boat window covers, also a cover to go over the bow of the boat. A drive to Roys for new underwear and some new top, but Ian got his t-shirt from Woodfords for the Ale trail and also a rugby shirt (Roys tops were not to Ian's taste). We had lunch at Woodfords, because time was getting on. Friday night was dinner at The Yare, but I wish they would change their menu as it is so boring. We were lucky with the weather on Saturday and we had a friend come up from London by train, but we had to take the car to collect her. Then back to Brundall and to get out onto the river. We cruised down to Cantley and turned around and headed to Rockland St Mary for lunch (great lunch). Back on the river we headed down pass Brundall and down to Surlingham, where we saw a kingfisher . We turned and headed back to Brundall and base Cove Marina. Time for a nice cup of tea and then a drive back to Norfolk for the 16:30 train and saying our good buys to our friend. This weekend was our last proper cruise out on the river and the the end of November we will be up to take her out on the river to Brooms for us to fill her up with fuel and pump out and then we will be ready for the winter. As it was still early, we went back to Wroxham and this time some christmas shopping. This morning it was sad and I had tears in my eyes as we were locking her up, as it had been a great season . Roll on to Spring . Regards Marina
  24. Ok thanks Iain . I am a bugger for changes young Alan will tell you . Regards Marina
